"Without a doubt one of the best restaurants I've visited in a long, long time. I've visited a few times now and it's almost as if it gets better with each visit. The food is perfect every time. Full of flavour and depth as well as plenty of earthy bases (with certain dishes) that really make for a brilliant food experience. The staff are all very friendly and make sure you're happy without going too far. With a friendly greeting as you arrive to quick and easy service the staff do not disappoint. The value for money is second to none. Unlicenced so take your own drinks with a small corkage to pay on beers and wines. Even after a few bottle of wine and starters and mains for a couple, with tip and a satisfying meal you can expect to pay under the £50 mark. A real gem of a place. I'd recommend to anyone visiting they try the coconut sizzling dish before any other but it's great to have a few things treat yourself to many varieties of such great food."

"Loads of options and variation in cuisine- had Asian options, English, bakery goods and milkshakes. Had fish and chips, satay sticks and noodles for about £20ish. Great flavours, free sauces and water as well. Lovely staff. Later went back for a milkshake and brownie which were delicious. Only downside is the proportions are a little small and there isn’t really an atmosphere- but it’s clean."

"Having visited the Joshua Tree prior to it becoming an Indian restaurant, I had high hopes! Sadly these hopes were dashed rather quickly. Popadoms, were a tad soft, tandoori prawns mushy, Chicken 65 fried and dry, lamb chops small, however the chilli beef was the saviour of the starters! Mains were ordered, warm plates set out and there we sat. To pass the time more drinks were ordered however we had to chase as they were not forthcoming unlike the takeaway orders which were flowing out of the kitchen at regular intervals. At one point during our wait the waiter apologised for the delay in our main meals being cooked due to a problem with an oven. We accepted this explanation, however when more takeaways kept coming out of the kitchen with no sign of our mains, frustration started to mount. After 50 minutes, with warm plates cold we asked for the bill. The one waiter who was run ragged apologised profusely, a second waiter came out and informed us our dinner was ready and brought out one main course which looked like it had been sitting on the pass for the length of time we had been waiting! The run ragged waiter produced our bill, deducted our starters which was extremely kind, however the overall experience had been ruined. This visit was extremely disappointing. Had the restaurant been heaving, it wouldn’t have been so bad. Joshua Tree you might have a booming takeaway business but please remember your restaurant customers are equally as important!"

"We went here today because of the good reviews and were very disappointed! Not a patch on HIVE around the corner for breakfast! Cheap ingredients, particularly the sausages. Everything in the full breakfast was dripping in grease. The toast was cheap bread. The spread on the muffin with the eggs benedict tasted awful, like cheap margarine, as was the hollandaise sauce. Lattes were very weak and tasteless. When my friend approached the manager he wasn’t open to constructive criticism, more concerned with arguing back like we were in the wrong for not enjoying it. We paid for the drinks and 1 out of 4 breakfasts and were told we wouldn’t be welcome back instead of being open to suggestions for improvement. Terrible attitude of other staff members. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! I very rarely write reviews but but feel strongly about this one!"

"I would not even give this place a single star! Out of all the restaurants I have visited, this one had the worst service. I'm not exaggerating - we didn't even receive any service. I went with a group of friends, and one of them arrived 10-15 minutes before us and was already seated. She tried to get some service, but nobody paid any attention to us when we all arrived. The lady working there was too busy chatting with other customers, and even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, they didn't bother to inform us that they would be with us shortly. We eventually left, and still no one noticed or cared about losing our business. We definitely won't be returning."

"Ended up here by mistake, having ordered online to collect at my local restaurant only to be told on arrival that they had no website and no order from me, I needed to go to the Oakham branch instead! I was not best pleased, but when I rang this place instead, they were very helpful, explained the mix-up (which happens a lot apparently! and gave me some complimentary side orders to make up for the inconvenience. And it was one of the tastiest curries I have ever had. Definitely going back!"

"Myself and my partner had a takeout from here for the first time this evening. The girl on the phone was very pleasant and the food arrived promptly, however that's as positive as it got. My partner's chicken chow mein had literally no sauce through it, just dry overcooked chicken with burned noodles. The curry sauce which he ordered was like wallpaper paste, but lacking in any distinct flavour. I had the chicken and yellow bean, which was edible but nothing amazing. I also ordered chips and gravy but I have no idea how they can call it gravy. It was yellow, which made me think it was actually curry sauce, but it just tasted off. We phoned to ask for a refund given how unsatisfied we were with the food we received, however the manager was immediately defensive and said that as it was our first time ordering from there, we obviously weren't used to the food (what?! . Instead of apologising and offering a full refund (which any decent company would do she tried to call our bluff by saying we were only entitled to a refund if we brought our half eaten food back (never heard of such a policy in my life, think she was trying to be smart or awkward . My partner has Covid and at no point did she think to check before asking for us to return our contaminated food. We went to the restaurant with our half eaten food and again we got a very defensive, abrupt attitude from the manager. She insisted that her restaurant has been open for 20 years (not sure of the relevance . Maybe in those 20 years she's lost her tastebuds to decent tasting Chinese food. She did provide us with the refund (minus the cost of delivery reluctantly. If anyone gets Covid after eating at Teng Huang Palace, it's because the manager insists on Covid victims returning their half eaten food for a refund :"

"Perfect Food was delicious, brilliant selection for all taste buds from chicken to salmon, monkfish, prawn, lamb, mixed. From mild to very hot. Fast service, nicely presented with friendly, lovely polite staff. Tonight was quiet, which we prefer, being able to talk and hear each other speak. The booking was made for tonight, Sunday for a table for 5. We had starters, mains, sides, dessert, alcoholic drinks, soft drink and 2 Irish coffees to end the evening. We are new to the area, this is the second time we have been to this Nepalese restaurant and the only one we have visited since before the Pandemic. This will be our regular haunt for a 'treat ' or special occasion from now on. First visit was a Saturday evening, very busy, two large parties. extremely popular place to eat locally yet still the good service and quality food was evident."

"Came on a recommendation that Sai Spice was a fabulous restaurant, much to our disappointment. Firstly, the starters were not overly impressive 6/10 The mains arrived at different times as opposed to arriving together despite a request to the waiter. Dishes: The IDLI that was ordered was soggy and arrived 15 minutes before any other mains were served. Keema was bland and tasteless, sent it back and returned with a couple of extra chillies mixed in. Same applied to the the Chinchinada and the biryani. It's fair to say that the dishes are lacking in authenticity, spice and flavour, how ironic that the name of the restaurant is called Sai Spice. If the restaurant is empty on a Saturday night then that should be indication of one thing and one thing only."

"What a beautiful apartment this is. Finished to a really high standard and very comfortable, stocked with everything for a nice breakfast in the morning. Superb shower and kept really clean. Out in lovely countryside but not to far from civilisation and really quiet so slept well. Lovely staff that were really helpful with our arrangements as we were coming in late from a wedding. Though top end we used our club card vouchers so a real treat."

"I dined out with colleagues after work at a restaurant that specializes in a fusion of Chinese and Thai cuisine with a modern twist. The space is relatively small, and they were particularly busy on the day we visited, which created some congestion. The staff was friendly, mostly made up of college students. The décor had a minimalist and modern style. The food was delicious, though there wasn't a wide variety. I was disappointed to find that the menu at the restaurant was different from what was displayed on their website. I appreciate that they offer a buffet style with takeaway service for lunch. Overall, it’s a good value for money."

"Having tried this in 2018 I thought I would give it another go. What a bad decision. Mango chutney was inedible with a very chlorine taste combined with a fizz, like when something has turned. I even got the server to try it and his excuse was because it was made with mustard seed and oil!!! Mix grill cocktail starter was all bright red and tasted the same, with the lamb tikka akin to chewing on a Dr Marten’s boot sole. Lamb chops bright red and incinerated. Lamb jalfrezi, lamb garlic achari and lamb naga all slop. The latter being a bowl of chilli slop. Sparkling water bottles not left on the table or anywhere visible, so could’ve been poured from a 19p Aldi bottle. Who knows? Overall, the service was lacklustre and the food diabolical. Never again."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway from Wawin. We ordered via uber eats and had the vegan chicken satay and homemade style tofu with rice and vegan noodles. My word... the satay was absolutely delicious with the texture of the chicken simply superb and the depth of spice and flavour spot on. The tofu dish was also flavoursome, with perfectly cooked tofu and it was great to have black fungus alongside some noodles again. Slight issue was just a tad too much oil. As we ordered via uber eats we also got £10 off, as an introductory offer so ordered the wawin deep fried combo as well. The spring rolls, wontons and especially the chicken drumsticks were tremendous with the sweet chilli sauce providing a perfect dipping agent. Can't wait to try more dishes from the menu when we return to Leeds."

"Ordered food via Uber Eats as there was a promo going on. Keep trying different Chinese restaurants in the hope that i would find the Indo-chinese taste that we get back in India. I ordered the veg fried rice and the vegetables in schezuan sauce. Some fries as well. The portion size of the rice and the fries was huge, will last for more than one meal for 2 people. The taste was good and i would order again. Quite similar to the Indo-Chinese food."

"!!!!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE !!!!!! Received order and discovered raw chicken in the curry. Also a liver in with the duck (idk if this is normal tbh). I called them up and they wouldn’t take my word for it and disregarded what I had to say. I was told the chicken was cooked twice and it would not have been undercooked. I insisted on sending an image of the undercooked chicken as well as the duck liver. Once the restaurant received the images I was informed that the duck liver was fine to just leave and not abnormal but the chicken was not cooked enough. I was offered a £6.00 refund/ the dish to be re-cooked. Obviously I was not happy with either of these options as there is a large chance I will end up falling ill. I asked for a full refund which they agreed to on the terms that the order was returned with each item containing more than half of its contents. This restaurant cared more about the return of their undercooked food than the well-being of their customers. Upon collection of the order a delivery man looked through each item to ensure each was more than half full (even the sauces). This situation was handled extremely unprofessionally and I am disgusted at the inability to properly cook chicken. Don’t let the other reviews fool you, this place is a joke. I may be forced to report this case to the environmental health services."

"Update 1: Despite one unhealthy dish, the rest of the food at this Chinese restaurant is top-notch! I was disappointed with that one dish, but overall, this is the best Chinese place I have ordered from. My order is always accurate, usually delivered on time, and consistently delicious. The staff is always lovely and friendly, and whether I order online or in person, I have never been let down. Yes, the prices are a bit higher, but for the quality of food and peace of mind, it is definitely worth it!"

"Awful experience. Strange chewy white meat that was supposed to resemble chicken but I assure you, it didn't. "usually good, bit sub par this time. I would have reserved a big group, but when we showed up, they were unprepared and relocated tables to organize us. for the starters we are stuck on poppadums, and their spicy floor had some good strong aromes in it. for the main I decided to have a chicken aroma that was spicy, but nothing else than that I was missing I expected to be swirling, paprika, but it was otherwise bland (I would have hanged on a jal frezie that I normally have). I also had a veg fried rice on the side that I found quite oily, rich in ghee next time I will stay in ordinary pilau or boiled rice. an esszimmerkollege had hühnertikka, a dazzling plate that looked good and smells. another had a Tandoori chicken, a good dark red color, and I had a taste crispy and dry, I would also like that!"

"Each time I have been and its now quite a few, I haven't been disappointed. The fish is beautifully fresh, nice thick flakes of cod. All the flavours are good. Nothing is too much trouble and although the dishes come as a meal on a plate we have extra plates to enable us to share. The fish Pakoras as a starter are one of my favourites. My daugher has popadoms, not the usual tasteless things you buy in the supermarket, with the chutney tray and with them usually onion bagees, again fresh, not over spiced but a nice crisp outside and fluffy in the middle as they should be. for mains we usually have 3, this usually is made up of the Seafood thali, the house fish and the Garlic Bhuna with Cod. all of it comes with lovely fine rice and salad. In addition we have a side of Saag Aloo, has a good amount of spinach and chilli, not just potatoes. The drinks were 2 pints of cola, 3 bottles of Becks Blue and 2 x 1/2 cobra with a glass of chardonnay. Total cost £62 for the 3 of us and we were stuffed. No space for puddings. Good value. Will be visiting again soon. As this also has a fish and chip shop as part of it next door, they cater for kids such as pizza, sausage etc"

"My wife and I have been using the China Town takeaway home delivery service approximately once a month for the past 4-5 years. We have occasionally tried another service for a change, but we always come back to China Town. The food is consistently delicious, especially the royal prawns. Our orders are always fulfilled correctly and delivered on time. We typically request delivery before 9:45/10:00 on Friday nights, and the service is always excellent."
