"Mediocrity. It 's not as bad as it seems when it comes to sushi in London. Just had Tokiya Sushi and have to say: why are resturants so cheap with their fish when making maki here? All I 'm asking for is equal parts fish/veggie to rice, not even more fish than rice like I 'd find in the US but this seems like a difficult enough ask. On the upside, their sushi is yum yum yummie, and pretty cheap, affordable by all who have about 10-15 quid to spend on a dinner, but maki, although good, has such a small amount of the fish you order in it, it doesn 't even make sense to order them over the sushi unless you really don 't like fish. Not so good point #2 My dinner-mate got a sushi regular which was 6 pieces of sushi and 5 pieces of maki. What they didn 't state was that maki means the cheapest thing possible which turned out to be a cucumber roll with not even a bit of fish in the roll in sight. Obviously if people are ordering a sushi plate, they aren 't vegetarians and generally will expect SOME fish in their maki! End diagnosis, would order take away from (i forgot to mention there is a 10 pound per person rule even though most of their entrees are under 10 pounds and oh yeah it DOESN 'T include drinks) especially the sushi, but don 't go by the photo here, you are lucky if the maki comes with half that much filling, albeit they are still tasty if unsatisfactory. sushi pretty good, maki order take away from Tsunami just down the other way."

"We went after their great renovation and the ambience is good for one night in a quiet yet lively restaurant. However, given the situation not central London compared to all other many other Japanese restaurants I was, the prices are too high. I pay less for everything in an authentic Japanese restaurant in central locations. Sushi quality is great with thick and fresh cuts and good decoration and good selection of menu for the size of the kitchen. A dish that I do not enjoy was my favorite grilled egg on rice, the size of the aal was 1/3 of the normal size for the price of £18, as the aal prices have decreased little in recent years. For this reason I gave 2 star of 5 for value. If you are looking for great sushi in Kentish Town, there is no other place, so I recommend if you are a local Japanese fan."

"This restaurant has only been open for a month, so they are still getting started. The food was decent overall - the calamari was delicious, the papaya salad had a kick, and the fried chicken was good. The gado gado was decent, but the roti canai curry was on the salty side and quite thick. The Assam laksa was tasty, while the traditional laksa was okay but resembled more of a curry mee. The char kway teow tasted more like the KL variety with dark soy sauce and could have been more fragrant. The hainanese chicken rice was served with plain steamed rice instead of the roast/fried chicken we had requested - there was a miscommunication with the staff on this issue. Although we didn't feel like correcting the mistake at that point, the nasi lemak was alright. The wat tan hor was decent, and the water spinach with belacan was good. The cocktails were enjoyable. Overall, it was not a bad meal, but there were no desserts available. I may consider going back to try other items in the future."

"Food is usually very good, however they are so focussed on the takeaway side of the business that seated customers are left waiting and waiting for their order. Eventually when they served us our entrée dish uncooked. The waitress was very nice and offered us a discount. The rest of our meal was delicious. Waiting staff on a Friday night is under pressure, they keep going back and forth from the kitchen to the door, outside there is a line of delivery drivers, the atmosphere is frantic, not relaxing."

"I just want to say that I'll be back here. came for a afternoon dinner and the food quality was amazing. the menu has many options and I decided to try to merge the huh with omelette with a rice floor. that was so soft, melted in my mouth. the same can be said for the salmon, I was in various restaurants that serve lachs in pieces or on a floor of rice, I can say that this place was the best I had in terms of taste and texture. the restaurant itself had a very warm and cozy environment with very cool tables. the staff is attentive during the meal to ensure that they take care of themselves. the only thing I would say was that it was a tad on the expensive side. However, I have always said whether the quality corresponds to the price, then this can be overlooked. would definitely recommend this place to others, but note that the huh is only half here."

"Amazing service and awesome meal!!! So pretty with all of the flowers! My gin and tonic could have had a lime and lemon. The meal deal for two could have had a little better selection of sushi but overall if I lived in Manchester I bet it would be on of my regular places to eat!!! "I was appalled at the quality of service from the moment I arrived to the moment I left, which was about When I arrived I was not asked if I would like a drink, and I wasn't asked throughout the whole meal. The waitress should have seen on the table that we only had tap water, and asked whether we'd like another drink. Then, we ordered our first round of hot food. I pressed the help button and after waiting for a good minutes for the waitress finally arrived. I felt it was too long. At this point in the evening there were three full tables in the whole restaurant so I thought the amount of time we had to wait was poor. Then the food started coming over, but the food didn't come altogether. A couple of dishes came and then a few more and a few more after that. This meant we didn't all eat together, we ate all at different times. I had ordered two dishes to eat at the same time and they didn't arrive at the same time. Very disappointing. The third order of hot food was beyond a joke. It was clear that one of the two waitress wasn't feeling very well (I overheard one of the chef's telling her to go home). She was our waitress. So, we ordered the third round of hot food. minutes later we still didn't have our food. In this time the chef was talking to the ill waitress. I then pressed the help button and I explained that we'd ordered some food and had been waiting a rather long time. I then look round at the waitress and chef and it was absolutely clear that the order didn't go through so it was only then that the food was starting to be cooked. The waitress who took the order explained that there's been lots of issues and she was sorry. As a customer paying for a meal, I don't care about the issues, I still expected good service and my food to turn up. Overall I thought the service was absolutely terrible. I will not be visiting this restaurant again and I will not be recommending the restaurant to anyone."

"Once seated, we placed our order promptly as we were quite hungry. Unfortunately, we waited for over an hour for our food to arrive, all the while having to repeatedly request water which was often ignored. We had a young child with us who is sensitive to black pepper, and we specifically asked for the dish to be prepared without it. However, our request was disregarded, and when the dish was served to the child, she had a terrible reaction. When we brought this issue to the server's attention, there was a lack of apology and accommodation. To make matters worse, a service charge was added to the bill without our consent. When we asked for it to be removed, the staff did so without inquiring about our concerns. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was simply dreadful."

"some of the dishes we ordered never arrived, we have repeatedly asked for drinks because they have not arrived. I had informed before the booking that it was our daughter 18th and asked for a small plate of desserts with a radio, but that did not arrive either so she had to remember while our daughter entered the toilet!!! there was no dedicated server on the table so that every time we had to hunt our inquiries, there was something else and they didn't understand! we were just a table of 3 and still paid £152.00 with only one person drink beer and two on refreshment drinks we were charged a service fee that she deserves"

"There is a strong online presence of a lunch menu for Kisaku. After confirming what my wife would like me to pick up, I was told upon arrival that there was no lunch menu. There was a similar dish for $12.50 instead of $7.50 on the regular menu. I felt completely disappointed to have traveled there to be offered a 65% price increase. The owner did not apologize. I went elsewhere and will never return. The place was completely empty at 1 pm, and I am not surprised. By the way, Kiasu is a Hokkien word that denotes a selfish and greedy attitude that arises from fear of missing out. I think the restaurant should change its name."

"The service and attitude by the server was the worst I have ever experienced in Europe. Every table was served water not us, every table was asked if they would like anything else or drink refills except us. We had to ask for the bill 4 times. Customers who came in after us, received their larger orders faster and left before us. If you would like to be ignored, go here. It's the restaurant's loss, we would have ordered additional drinks, food, and desserts but customer service was the worst."

"We ordered takeout from this restaurant and it arrived quickly. The food was delicious! They gave us a complimentary upgrade to fancier rice since they had run out of jasmine rice. The curries and pad Thai we ordered were excellent. We have no complaints, we are very satisfied and full."
