"Went for the Sunday Jazz Feast bottomless brunch. We don’t drink so we enquired about non alcoholic options. Was pleasantly surprised that they offered a just bottomless food option where we could order drinks separately. Felt like this was a good start, but that was probably the only good surprise we experienced. We were quite disappointed that there were no oysters despite all the PR and reviews saying unlimited oysters. All over IG and Tik Tok it’s reviews about oysters, so that was disappointing. Felt that there were not a huge amount of options for seafood and starters/salads. The roasts looked good but found the meat was seasoned very heavily with salt. The gravy/jus was very watery. Must say the carver was very friendly though! Most of the other hot food (sausages with mash, chicken, risotto) were cold and looked unappetising due to looking dry and congealed. I understand it’s difficult on a buffet to keep things looking fresh but the temperature of the hot food was just too cold. Also not sure why they felt the need to slice the sausages in half? Dessert selection was also very limited and the cheese selection placed on the same table which had a very overwhelming smell. Definitely put me off, I didn’t eat any desserts. Service wise I noticed the tables around us were getting a good level of service, having their bottomless drinks topped up regularly. Maybe it was because we were just ordering our drinks separately and were not consuming alcohol I felt like we didn’t get the same attentive service. Waiters were having conversations with other guests and tables and we barely got a sideways glance. Took ages for us to get someone’s attention to order more drinks, get a top up of water etc. I was tempted to try to ask if I could order oysters but couldn’t get the attention of a waiter so just gave up. Even asking for the bill took longer than needed. Being busy we wanted to free up our table promptly for them. On our departure we barely got a thank you for paying nor a goodbye. Overall feel a bit underwhelmed and slightly cheated that one of the star attractions of this brunch buffet was oysters that weren’t even there. But the contrast in service to other tables and us was what really made this a sour experience. Although vastly more expensive, will probably stick to The Ned or even something like Nobu Shoreditch bottomless brunch."

"My sister and I went to this pub today for a late lunch. We ordered food after a long wait for someone to take our order. When the food came, it was over cooked and inedible, particularly my sister’s meal. She spoke to the manageress who was completely disinterested but offered take part of her meal off of the bill. When it came to settling the bill, we said we were not happy that we were paying for any of the food as it was all inedible. My sister asked to speak to the landlord, but he refused to speak to us and sent his manageress who had already made it clear she had no interest. We begrudgingly paid the bill and, on our way out, my sister approached the landlord who was instantly aggressive and refused to enter into any discussion smirking and saying he had more important things to do. Out of frustration, my sister, unfortunately, used some strong language. At which point, the landlord became very threatening, chasing us out and saying things like “See what happens next” and “you haven’t heard the end of this “. He followed us out and repeatedly implied that something bad was going to happen to us. He was so vile that I must admit I am concerned he could try to track us down from my credit card details. I am going to report this to the police in case there is any “payback” for us having the audacity to complain about a terrible meal! In all my years of dining out, I have had some rubbish customer service, but I have never been intimidated and threatened for complaining,"

"Bad service the whole way through. I can see that the restaurant has told other reviewers that they have checked their CCTV . I would love for you to check the CCTV and see what we saw! I am only posting this as your restaurant contacted OpenTable to state we were no shows. Unfortunately we did show. How did you miss us in a practically empty restaurant? We had to chase for water, napkins, plates, condiments etc. Took a napkin from the empty table next to us eventually. 5 mins later a femal staff member walked over and dumped about 10 napkins on our table and walked away. Aggressive much! The quickest part was getting the bill. My partner was served a cocktail that was approximately 1 sip and it was gone as the Martini glass resembled something from a doll 's house play set. Staff openly talking about us in ear shot huff, puff, what do they want , WHAT 'S WRONG yelled from the bar when we requested another drink from a waitress. Food... Garlic bread? Covered in rosemary, couldn 't find/see/taste garlic. Burger bun a brick, chips cooked on the outside not the middle and my chicken was so dry it peeled and was like string. Checked the review site before we went and saw 4.3 so thought this will be great. As meal became worse and worse we read the comments in the reviews. Filter anything from the last 4-6 months and it 's ALL bad. I am assuming I am too going to be called malicious as a previous review was and I see they had a real similar experience to us. No wonder it was practically empty at 9pm on a sat night. We won 't be going back. Refused to pay service which they after a fashion fianlly broken hearted it seemed accepted but we 're so disappointed. The venue looks beautiful, menu looks great and there were 2 staff members out if the team of 6 or so who we saw, who when they appeared were not particulary helpful but the whole experience was shocking. £80+ for 2 people, 2 mains a sharer starter, 4 drinks and 2 sides for what we got in hindsight unacceptable I should have argued for most of the food to be removed from the bill. Food and anbienc should be renamed Food and Ambulace. The manager sists there watching his CCTV and the owner is raking it in from unsuspecting guests and no doubt pays his staff a pittance so thats why they and the unqualified chef act like this .They need to learn manners. Imagine this lot on a cookery show each week as they would all be evicted on the first eviction date or Lord Sugar would fire the whole lot and ask for a new set of customers. Why are people so dishonest as its theft of you hard earned cash.Dispicable."

"This is not only a review but a message to the manager. I booked my brothers and sister in law’s baby shower here back in October 2023. We requested the garden/patio area as we were a large group including 2 dogs. Our plan was to have drinks and snacks then head to the local park for a gender reveal party where we would pop balloons filled with confetti. However, on this particular day the weather was not in our side, non stop rain. So, we decided to stick around at the pub and have a few more drinks. The rain was just not stopping, we started to consider doing the reveal in the garden of the pub so my brother even ordered about 50 pizza’s, this is on top of the already very large drinks tab. The pizza’s was terrible, sent out undercooked and only sent out 2-3 pizza’s every 10 minutes when we ordered 50 to keep the group full until the weather improved, still we didn’t complain as we realised it was a lot of pizza’s. After discussing with my heavily pregnant sister in law to do the reveal in the pub, I just thought I’d confirm with a member of staff who asked me to ask a manager, the manager at the bar was apparently an assistant who told me they would not allow it because the confetti was to difficult to be cleaned up. Now, I completely get this as it is true. However, I pleaded with this assistant manager, pleaded and explained the situation to her, I asked her to check with her manager who was hanging around the bar listening to the conversation and not stepping up to show some compassion and have some empathy for the situation. I offered to clean up myself, i explained that I would pop the balloon in the very corner of the garden where the rain was slightly seeping through and would be easy to sweep up, but NO! She cold heartedly denied, no compassion at all! A big big shame to this management team for letting down this family and customer who had spent at least 1k in their pub on this occasion. And for what reason, for not wanting to make a customer happy just for wanting to avoid putting some extra elbow grease into their sweeping up of an already old and dingy pub garden. This is what establishments like yours are for, for hospitality! Which you lacked completely on this day! Not even a thank you when leaving for spending so much in your pub, I wish I hadn’t asked for your permission on the balloons and just went ahead and popped them there anyway! Shame on you!"

"We had a really rubbish night here and I can’t remember a time where I felt more ripped off. Firstly they take credit card details with a 48 hour cancellation policy and £30 per person charge for cancellation or no show. I’d never dream of no showing a restaurant reservation without letting them know, but this feels extreme, even for Notting Hill. We arrived half an hour early for our table, had a drink downstairs in the pub (where a single bag of Tayto crisps are £2.50!!!!! . Our reservation was at 6pm so I went up at 5:50pm to see if they’d seat us early. The place was empty bar a table of 9 10 adults and children. I was told they couldn’t seat us yet and to come back up 15 20 mins later. Right. Back downstairs. Waited another 20 mins, until around 10 past 6pm. They said they were just setting our table, which was a table of 2 right next to the big table. Every other table was empty, so I asked if actually we could sit away from the group and pointed out all the empty tables. We were told this wasn’t possible. We sat down to a wobbly table and got on with looking at the menu. Then we asked if we could have the chicken Kiev (the whole reason we came as we’d heard how good it was by a friend who’d had it years ago when they lived in the area we were told no, that’s only available in the bar. It’s priced at the same price point as mains upstairs so I asked if they could make an exception and was rudely told no. Even though it all comes out of the same kitchen and we’d have starters and desserts as per the menu up here. Just no. Starters were just about ok at the time just about I had the pint of prawns but felt very ill the next day. My partner had the Barnsley chop which was so tough it was borderline inedible in fact he didn’t eat it. I had the fish stew but there’s no chips or fries on the sides menu so I was sold mash instead. A lump of cold, dry potato turned up on the table. While we were eating another table sat down in the corner and throughout the meal my partner was asked to move out the way so they could get to that table, or push his chair in so they could get past madness when he was literally just sitting normally as anyone would?! Our bill was £150 odd so for pub fare it’s not cheap. We came away feeling so frustrated and actually just really pissed off at how rude the staff were and how ripped off we felt. A **** experience. What a shame!"
