"we have visited several, many times, over a long period. the overall experience was in the regular good or very good. this time it was close to poor. the amuse beech were very salty and too large pieces hardened makrele. that was served with a cone with very soft and almost tasteless tarama. we asked for additional dish vegetables for the table we would pay for) and were told to him it could be done and b) there was plenty nice with the main plates served. I don't think a) and b) was certainly not correct and that's not how to react to diners. the fish shell was covered with a thick and inedible layer of perhaps melting broth crumbs. it made the whole dish unpalatable. there were four of us and each court was seriously strangled. I'm really sorry to write this report. in the rule you can find something positive to compensate for the disappointments. No one was found. what happened to the kitchen is not clear, but probably on a Friday night the A team was in the kitchen. more attentiveness to the main dishes and the zero amuses book and between curs mini offers can help get to what counts. hopefully the dinge will improve again. the menu choices regarding proteins were very strange and there was zero for a vegetable-loving diner."

Nice staff, tasty food. Not a lot of atmosphere in the restaurant, but wasn't missed too much.

Food was wonderful although the Lillies in the restaurant were overpowering and smelt of urine. Would definitely return for the food

We had an excellent one night stay. The room was very comfortable with a compact bathroom with a rain shower. The continental breakfast was more than ample and was delivered to the room. We enjoyed the communal balcony (which we had to ourselves) over looking the harbour. All in all very nice indeed.

9/10 best this was a Michelin star, additional kudos for the execution of a tasting menu next to an al la carte. there is the occasional dish that is not as good as the rest, but this is the only part, the service is impeccable and overall this is the place to go in hampshire for a fine culinary experience. my man and I have eaten here in the evening, one of our first meals since the pandemic. the restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. we chose the a la carte menu. I had the scallops to begin, then the venison, and the ice custard and pumpkin tart. my man had the deenmousse, venison and cheese. every cure was delicious, especially the venison, the best venison dish I've ever tasted. we both hope to come back one day.
