"This restaurant has a wonderful site on the Boulevard de la Marne and should be ideal for a drink or meal after visiting the excellent street market. The outdoor seating area, enclosed by lovely old railings, is full of potential. That's as far as the good points go. The proprietor and his/her family hang around aimlessly whilst a single waitress struggles. Goodness knows what happens in the kitchen, where they can't be observed, but a Caesar Salad I ordered was the worst I've ever eaten. The cheese shavings, claimed on the menu to be Parmesan, were flavourless rubber. Avoid, until they show some pride in running a restaurant!"

I chose this restaurant because it offers a 24-hour opening We were 12pers to restore us for 14:00 after the Strasbourg races. A big thank you to the in-room team that moved us to the terrace. We enjoyed it. Thank you to the kitchen team. Tasteful care your little dishes and served well hot. We'll be back.

If you 're after gourmet food in a subtle and romantic atmosphere then this probably isn 't the place for you. If, however, you want to have a substantial meal (at a very good price) in a lively local bar then I would recommend A l 'Observatoire. I notice that some people have have given it a negative review but I would pose the simple question if the food 's not good how come so many local people eat there? Yes, it would benefit from having more staff serving but when I 've eaten there I 've never had to wait too long, even when it 's extremely busy.
