"Given his is a hotel, it does feel special. It was a shame that we appeared to have two relatively junior staff attend to us and we were left waiting for quite a while to get drinks and order food. Once sat at our table we were served by great staff and the food was excellent. We have starters and mains only as the puddings added £8 and did not appear such good value. Portions were quite small but enough to satiate our appetites. Had I been a big eater I'm not sure id have said the same. Would happily eat there again."

Given the COVID 19 restrictions, the staff at this restaurant were outstanding. The service was attentive and the food was excellent.

Mussels were rationed per diner, so we couldn't have it as a main course but as a starter. Overall the service and food was excellent.

I recently visited the area and had a reservation at The Grove. The restaurant offers exceptional value for the price and I would highly recommend it.

Excellent anniversary meal. Lovely ambience though due to COVID restrictions probably quieter than usual. Food was fabulous. We had venison haunch which we really enjoyed though couldn’t eat it all. Luckily we were able to take leftovers home. Will definitely be back.

The main meal was good, the mussels starter was very good. However the dauphinois was completely cold (we did tell the waitress). The cooled breakfast wad very disappointing and tried too hard to be different! Bacon was charred (tasted burnt). The tomato was very difficult to eat and eggs were tiny and poached too long. Sausage was lovely though. Overall we have had much better and paid less. Nice setting but not altogether great.
