"today we stayed for lunch pasquetta in this farm, located just before the castle Chiavarese. access is via a dirt road of about 300 meters that starts from the state road. position surrounded by greenery with convenient private parking. the pasquetta menu has provided a series of appetizers (sardenaira, stuffed panbrioche, mixed meats, ovetto with dried tomatoes and cannellini, flan of spear and chipollotti) all very good, then two first ones (spray with spring vegetables and ravioli cacio and pepper and peas) and a second (also very valid with aromatic herbs. finally the sweet, a tiramincielo to strawberries and cream cantilena, very Gothic. a bottle of excellent vermentino of the holy farm caterpilla, a water, two coffees and two digestives, the latter kindly offered, for a total account of 108 euros in two (the menu has been fixed price to 40 euros per person), to consider correct. friendly and kind service. recommended local to every type of clientele, we will return!"

When Liguria calls, the Castagneto responds with the excellence of the territory: an extraordinary wine, the San Pé, breathtaking views and an inspired cuisine that uses products exclusively from the farm and surroundings. All this cleverly amalgamated with quality, research and detail, from the custodians of this splendid gem nestled among the wooded Ligurian hills. A place to periodically relive during the year with the alternation of the seasons. Uncommon welcome and kindness with an amazing price-quality ratio!

Congratulations! Very impressive! It would already be enough for the courtesy and the beautiful smile, from which to transpare the happiness and serenity of all of you, to make it a place out of the ordinary. And then the dishes! Different, light but tasty, well presented, profumatous of genuineness, that while talking about Liguria are really unique! And it is unexpected to find so much trouble a few minutes from the afa of one of the most humid days of sestri lev. Excellent wine! And the focaccia! Even the gluten-free one! Bravo!

"I've been living in Italy now for the last two months and get to experience many hidden treasures because my husband and his family are locals. This is by far one of the best meals we have had to date. I don't even know where to start. My mother in law pre-arranged the meal so that it was a prix fixe meal including the meal, wine, coffee and digestifs. She had requested a peskatarian meal and everything was amazingly fresh. She ordered six appetizers for six people and were presented with a platter of each selection. The cozze were the freshest and cleanest I have had outside of my mother's kitchen. I have eaten cozze in restaurants in some of the fanciest places in Italy and had nearly sworn them off because they were not cleaned well and were overly salty. The zuppa di cozze were a delight and the cozzze gratinate got gobbled up by the guests. Next we had a capponata, which is like a ratatouille but much more delicate and perhaps my favorite dish of the meal. The sgombro (a tuna relative) was served filleted on top of a tomatoe, olive, and onion salad and was perhaps the most revered by the locals. Still on the appetizers, we had an arancini variation, which were the fried rice ball but these with a twist of salmon in the middle. We also were served a tortino con formaggio which was also interesting and fresh. Starting to get full at this point but not wanting it to end. The staff gave us plenty of time between our antipasto and main because they wanted us to eat all we could in a relaxed and pleasant environment. The wife of the owner, Marinella, was a delight and would entertain us with stories of her home town in Sicily. Next came the primo patti, and again some of the best pastas made with fish I've eaten in Liguria. One was a ravioli stuffed with grouper (cernia in italian) served in a salmon sauce and topped with giant shrimp (gamberoni) and were so delightful that I couldn't stop eating them. The gamberoni were the best I've eaten since Nice. The other pasta was a caserecce in a tomatoe sauce with sword fish and equally delightful. I was almost hoping it would end but then the secondo or the (meat/fish) dish came out. There were two platters of roasted rolled swordfish which were made of thinly sliced sword fish and I believe onions and raisins. Quite different and again insanely fresh. I could only take a bite of one and thought that I was about to die until the dessert came out. I'm not a dessert girl. Marinella's dessert converted me. She offered us one of three desserts, a souffle like cake topped with pistaccios and spilling with either white or dark chocolate or a tiramisu. I tried all three. Being a dark chocolate lover, she won my heart. Stefano, the chef and owner is also a very kind an generous man who delighted us with a taster of what he was roasting in the kitchen and making sure that we had his authentic zibibbo (sicilian dessert wine) to finish. My only complaint is that I didn't have a second stomach. They packed up all the food left on the platters (which isn't typical of italian restaurants) but as they explained is a tradition at the end of a sicilian feast. Aside from the pleasantness, amazing quality and freshness, authenticity and gentleness of the owners one of the most delightful surprises was the price. I don't think I could make that meal at home for what they charged us. I hope they are around for 50 years to come. I am going to bring everyone I know. It's in the middle of nowhere and the road is long and curvy but this is by far the best find I have found to date."
