"Every time my husband and I want to give ourselves a treat, we end up at the Altes Rathaus..We could order with closed eyes and won't be disappointed.The deer steak is a highlight and I am addicted to the warm octopus salad..We are so happy to take our guests there and the feedback is always super positive.I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent food, great service and the personal touch of the owners greeting their guests and inquiring about the food.This restaurant is THE restaurant in Lauf !"

After a long day at the exhibition, it was a lovely welcoming place. Wonderful steak, salad and potatoes. Wine and crepe to finish. We all enjoyed every bite. Recommended!

We had a business dinner there. The service is good. The dishes are local and international. The ambience is historically with large wooden columns and a large oven in the middle of the restaurant.

Not fine dining but a fun and traditional restaurant. The building is quite special (town hall). The service were always very kind to our noisy children and were happy to switch between German and English when needed.

The restaurant is very warm and cozy decorated. The atmosphere is very rustic as the place use to be the old town hall of lauf (1546) The service was very friendly and efficient. I definitely recommend this restaurant. View menu

We did it very late, but the staff was very friendly and nice, they offered local food and recommended meals and beer, very, very good. Restaurant furniture is very different, interesting central place and stories around... Fried apple with vanilla ice cream desert is something you...muss try very nice.

We were invited to a birthday party of a family member on this occasion and had the "Bürgermeister" room to ourselves as a party of 20. There was a set menu but the dishes were of a very high standard and the waiting staff tended to our every need. I would highly recommend this restaurant for organizing a large special event.
