"racist business! in this area the parking lot is extremely difficult, so we had to park on a short 5 minutes to foot. it was not a problem because the walk here in the opposite is quite pleasant and the houses around are very cute. when we came to the waterfall city, we were so happy that it looks amazing here, but having a meal and sitting next to the waterfall is very complicated. restaurants in this opposite make lunch and dinner, they close at 2 o'clock and open only at 17 o'clock if they have no reservation for these times, it is almost impossible to eat here. we have managed to find a place without reservation for lunch that had some places to dinner. the place where I make this assessment. they were pretty good to take us. we came in and I was not hungry, but other people in my group were so that we sat and I had a cup of coffee. when the half of my group ordered food and we waited a long time for the meals to order some of the people who do not order food first decided that they were ready to eat at this time and asked to order. the dame that our commanded said no. the people who did not order when they first took the food orders were no longer to commission because they took too long and the others who just got the food would then be done in summary, they wanted to turn the table and not let us eat. one of our friends asked for a side of salat and this dame was absolutely rude to her (we felt as if she was racist, as our friend is a black woman) and they did not even give her a reason why she could not order the salat, she simply said no and went alway. when we went to pay her credit card machine was not taking my card and I tried all the cards I had and I also have an amex platinum and this card has no limits, it tends to never be rejected, I had never rejected this card ever, so I knew it was her machine, but she was incredibly angry and impatient to go to the mistake and just told me to pay someone else for my coffee. since I have not been allowed to eat and later I cannot speak for her eating, but on the basis of rudeness and sincerely the RACIST behavior of the staff I would tell them never walked foot at this place!"

Small, friendly restaurant selling traditional food. Outside terrace for a relaxed meal in summer or inside if the weather isn't so good. Great food and beer at good prices.

It was very pleasant to sit outside at their terrace for a drink. We also tried two of their tapas style dishes to accompany our beers and both were very good. Overall, very pleasant place to sit by the river in Saarburg.

We ate supper here on the terrace. Informal and nicely attentive service. We had the meat tapas followed by lamb cutlets and pork fillet. All well cooked and tasty with fresh ingredients and served piping hot with salad and country potatoes. Nice choice of local wines. View menu

We went there for dinner with two children 11 and 13. They were very helpful with the kids and we had steak sea bream pork schnitzel and chicken nuggets with no complaints. The food was excellent, the people were lovely and it was spotless, We...stayed in the area for a week and returned there for dinner in another evening, a great place, very close to the waterfall.

Since Michaela and Thomas (who worked for many years in the restaurant next door) are running this restaurant, it has become a must in Saarburg. The place is small but cosy. The menu is not long but all dishes are just perfect. On top of that, you will receive a warm from the waitress and the cook will often come and ask if everything is OK. All what you expect from a friendly place.

We had a fantastic experience here. We came with two families, both 2 adults and 2 children, so a total of 8. They didn't have room outside, so we took a table in it, the waitress then proactively asked us if we wanted a place outside... we did and they arranged it. The food was also excellent, we had a steak, salmon, nice carving and regular carving and it was all so good. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Would recommend. View menu

My wife and I were delighted when we were unexpectedly given such a warm welcome to Altstadt Eck which had been closed for many months has now been taken over by Thomas and Michaela . Ths was our 38th. visit to Saarburg where we have...witnessed many changes over the years.. We have known both Thomas an Michaela for several years as they were previously employed at another quality Restaurant in Saarburg prior to branching out in business themselves. In consequence we have no hesitation in commending Altstadt Eck to all Tourists who visit the Town of Saarburg. Thomas is one of the finest Chefs in this Town. All food is cooked to order so guests must be prepared to wait for it to be served. Fo...

"My son and I were staying at the Hotel, and decided to have dinner here after a long day exploring.First, the service: Probably the most warm, friendly service we have had anywhere in Europe during our 2 week "mini grand tour. Although her English was a little rusty, she couldn't have been nicer to two Americans with almost no German. What a pleasant surprise. We each had the €40 Regional specialty menu, and it was superb. Started with a chef's gift of carpacchio and fresh melon, which was sublime, as was the basket of brot. The entree (appetizer) was a fantastiche salad with marinated artichoke hearts, white asparagus (local specialty), an incredible piece of salmon, and a garnish of crab meat. Out of this world. For the main course we each had the schnitzel, served with buttered parsley potatoes and more white asparagus. I've had scnitzle at Zum Schwartzen Kameel in Vienna, which is supposed to be the best in Europe, bit the Saarrburger Hof eclipsed it. Truly remarkable.Dessert was a plate with an assortment of treats, including local cheese, vanilla ice cream, a small slice of gingerbread cake with a sumptuous sauce, fresh berries, and a blended fruit parfait. We started the meal with Bittburger bier and had a lovely local wine with the entrees and main courses. Total bill was €105 including service which qualifies as a steal. A truly memorable meal and evening."
