"Although the food was pretty good, the service was abominable. Nice, busy atmosphere with happy people. Our server (the owner? was grumpy. He WOULDN'T let us select the two first courses we wanted. Had to replace one. We got an ensalada mixta which was fine, and sauteed mushrooms with jamon on top. although we specifically asked without jamon. when we asked them to replace the plate, server just showed us, with a brushing movement of his hand, how we should brush aside the jamon. when we refused, the dish was taken away and we received a (hoepfully new and tasty dish without jamon. Main courses were largely good. Ox tail was fat and heavy, as one might expect, but delicious. Duck maigret was very good and so was the chicken breast. But one of us had fish with pilpil sauce that was bland. when she asked for some black pepper the server REFUSED! that's how you eat it, he insisted. after a while, as she couldn't eat the thing, we asked for more green pepers (dish came with 1 , which we did receive (with a grunt . this made the fish palatable. in sum, good food is not enough we would love to feel more welcome."

Menu alubiada, muy ricas y los sacramentos deliciosos. De postre tarta de arroz, muy blandita y con mucho sabor. El comedor superior con una decoración muy bonita de baserri y el personal muy amable y atento. Volveremos. Volvimos ayer y igual de bueno todo.

Located in the heart of La Arboleda, just off the main square, in what I was told was once the town's cinema, we had delicious local food and lots of it. The décor is traditional with lots of local artwork on the walls. To make the best of your visit, you really need to be able to speak Spanish and discuss food options with the owner. We decided to have a meal which we could share between the four of us, so had the traditional bean soup to share as a starter, served along with a huge chunk of bread and a variety of meats, cabbage and green peppers, and then two cod dishes, again to share, which were delicious, accompanied by a good red wine and water.
