"We stayed in the Auberge Saint Martin, which is a hotel and restaurant, for one night before a visit to the Mercantour National Park. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was lovely and welcoming. The room itself was small but sufficient, with a shower and sink in the room (literally - not an ensuite bathroom!) and a shared toilet on the corridor. Ours was the cheapest room, so I don't know whether others have proper ensuites, and we found it good value. We ate dinner in their restaurant. As a vegetarian, I didn't have a great deal of choice (which is normal in France) so ordered the goats' cheese salad. When this arrived with bacon on the top, they took it back and re-made it for me without complaint when I explained that taking it off the top wouldn't suffice. The home-made tarts we had for dessert were very nice and our dinner, including wine, was inexpensive.La Brigue seems a sweet village with a little more to see and do than some of the purpose built hikers' lodges that we saw, yet only a short drive away from the start of the hikes. There was a small church and a ruined castle that we saw as we took our evening stroll around the town, and across the river there is a track up the hill that will give you a good view over the village."

The salads were extremely good at lunch time, very plentiful. Fresh locally caught trout was delicious.

In the restaurant for a quick bite to eat and ice cream was very satisfied! Great stop for rest and food after hiking to the city.

We spent 5 days in La Birigue and did hiking trips to the mountains. This hotel was so nice, very friendly staff and nice view from the balcony.

Lovely friendly host , recommended us our wine and meals , the pasta was one of the best pastas I have eaten and was made on the premises. Rooms a bit small but comfortable the meal and friendly service certainly made up for it . Hope to come again soon .

Simply the best restaurant in the Roja Valley. I ordered the "Menù Brigasque" and it was amazing. Everything is organic, handmade and typical. The staff was kind and professional but the bill was not (too much) expensive.I suggest this restaurant to everyone who love good, healthy and right food.

We stayed in the Hotel for one night. The rooms were nice and the meal started with a good tasting salad. Unfortunately the only vegetarian option was to have only one salad with a whole mozzarella cheese and a desert although the others had three courses. A vegetarian replacement was not available. But still the whole menu was charged on the bill although one course was not served. We were still hungry so we ordered some pasta as extra (13 EUR!), which did not seemed to be cooked very well (the pasta dough did not seemed to be cooked completely, at least none of us could eat it). So the whole group returned the meal but everyone was still charged 13 EUR, which is quite expensive and for a re...
