"Sadly because of Covid this place was closed last year when we holidayed in Oban. This year it happily was open. We had, as usual only stopped in for a drink because it is one of our go to places whilst in Oban for a quick drink whilst walking along the main street, but what we did notice was that they now do pub lunches. We had already had something to eat that day, but the menu looked excellent and very good value so I can guarantee that the next time we are in Oban we will most certainly have our lunch here."

Very cosy venue and friendly staff, popped in for a couple of drinks, we had our dog and even sorted out a water bowl for him, would definitely recommend.

Locals bar were made to feel welcome. Good Guinness and plenty of malt whisky to try. Didn’t try the food but looked nice. Would happily visit again if I was staying longer.

Good pub, spotless pints, football on, reasonable prices. Not much more to say. Bar staff are friendly as are local folk, no saloon door staring in here unlike some others in town. View menu

Dropped in to catch the football and ended up staying longer and having some food. Lovely wee pub, very welcoming and friendly locals made this a place I will definitely return to.

ducked in to get out of the rain and have a quick bite. Its not where we had planned to eat but we were glad to get to experience what seemed like a true locals pub. Good service, food and beers

8 of us have just come back from an amazing seriously wet weekend in Oban. Aulays was our go to bar because John was such a fabulous host. We had such a laugh with him. Thanks John for making our weekend memorable. View menu

Best bar in Oban with enogh locals to make it fun, but not all locals and so tourists do not feel out of place. Drinks are sensible prices. This is our second visit, our previous one two years ago and if we are in Oban again we would go back .

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
