"If I’m in Germany I want sausage and sauerkraut, things I believe to be authentically German. A search of TA suggested this place. There were a couple reviews about grumpy old men and bad service. We didn’t see any of that. The inside is dark and wooden. The menu has beer (and wine) and classic German dishes. Since I intended to have wurst, I opted for a large pils bier. The wife had a glass of wine to go with her Paprika Schnitzel. My wurstteller was exactly what I was looking for. We finished dinner with some apfelstrudel…also delicious. Apparently, this place is a must-go for the local flight crews. There were plenty of airline stickers (including some that don’t exist any more) and a flight crew having dinner while we were there. Definitely worth a visit….sehr gut! Recommended."

The skin on the Schweinshaxe wasnt crispy all the way around. I have tried the Schweinshaxe in Munich which is a lot better

The waiters are friendly and food is just beautiful and food is well priced. The combination of these three things is sadly missing everywhere else in Frankfurt. This place was a wonderful homely german experience. A must visit if nearby. The pork Hock was amazing! View menu

We made a point of coming to this restaurant, having read the other reviews. The food is delicious and worth coming for, though the service is quite abrupt. Had the staff been more attentive, we'd have stayed for dessert; however, given that they were not fussed by our patronage, we left.

We had a really nice meal here. Owner waited on tables, also served as busboy, waiter, cashier and bartender. Food was well prepared, and service was slow, but that was to be expected in this casual pub on a rainy evening. Chicken cordon bleu was delicious, and my husband's bratwurst was really good also. Prices were very fair for the quality and quantity of the German home cooking.

Came here on a whim - it was a 10 minute walk from our hotel and wasn't disappointed. Walked in pretty late and the place was packed with people eating, drinking and having a great time.We ordered the goulash (SO GOOD), the schnitzel and some sort of sausage and we loved everything we ate. For dessert - apple strudel of course. It was our first real meal in Germany and we enjoyed it so much! View menu

This was our first trip to Frankfurt and we asked the staff at our hotel if they could recommend a German restaurant. Baseler Eck was the reply. My wife and I walked in during dinner rush but they got us a table right away. ....There seemed to be only a the owner, a male waiter, a bartender, and one or two people in the kitchen. There was very little talk between the staff and customers but what did happen was spot on service. All of the items we ordered from our drinks to the main meal to dessert was perfect. When we return to Frankfurt in one of our first meal stops will be Baseler Eck again
