"I’ve seen some bad customer service in my time but not to the point where we’ve walked out at the point of ordering. The grumpy man who I can only guess was the owner is a real-life Basil Fawlty. We were greeted with a grunt...and told to sit in the corner. While waiting to order, a group of five were ordered to sit on the same big table as us as he told them he was too busy to clean the table they wanted although the restaurant was not full. Then came the final straw which was so ridiculous it is laughable. We ordered our food and asked for two small lagers (as we’d already had a drink in our hotel bar) and he told us we could only have large. When I asked why, he said it was because he’d have to go back and forth when we wanted another and he was too busy. I asked him if he was being serious, he said yes and we could go elsewhere. We explained that we didn’t want more than one drink and just wanted a small one each I’m with our meal and he begrudgingly backed down by which point I was so shocked by his behaviour that I told him he was a disgrace and walked out. Unsurprisingly he didn’t seem bothered."

The skin on the Swcheinehaxe wasnt crispy all the way around. I have tried the Schweinehaxe in Munich which is a lot better.

The food was solid classic German cuisine. The beer was good and the prices are good as well. When we were there were only tourist in the entire restaurant.

A long standing favorite and after a recent visit it is still wonderful place to have a quality German meal. The food is what you hope for on a trip to Germany. Traditional food at it's best. Nothing fancy, just tasty and perfect;y prepared. Convenient...to the main train station and close to the river walk.

This was our first trip to Frankfurt and we asked the staff at our hotel if they could recommend a German restaurant. Baseler Eck was the reply. My wife and I walked in during dinner rush but they got us a table right away. ....There seemed to be only a the owner, a male waiter, a bartender, and one or two people in the kitchen. There was very little talk between the staff and customers but what did happen was spot on service.All of the items we ordered from our drinks to the main meal to dessert was perfect. When we return to Frankfurt in one of our first meal stops will be Baseler Eck again.
