"We have been to The Bay Horse many times over the years. Generally its was always good, not high end but fine for what it was. We have been more than sympathetic over the last months given the issues the hospitality industry have suffered...due to the pandemic and the effects of it but...A bad piece of meat, badly cooked then presented without any resting left me with the worst Rump Steak I have ever had. The accompanying sauce was less than average as were the other dishes delivered. The waiting staff were fairly attentive and, as should be expected polite, but if a pub rests on the laurels of its food The Bay Horse needs to buck up."

What a lovely find. Great food, large selection and really helpful staff. We had Sunday roasts and then cane back for an evening meal later in the week. Both excellent. Puddings were amazing and very big portions!

Always eat far too much coming here, had started main abs dessert, all cooked to perfection, hot and tasty, most of the staff are friendly, one waitress needs to get over herself and crack a smile, but generally the staff are great, will be back soon.

Five family members went here for Sunday Lunch. The main courses were only very average, the meat thinly sliced and tough. One family member ordered chicken and received a chicken leg, which was not what she expected. My wife’s desert was poor. for five...of us is too expensive for what we got. View menu

We love this place. We’re always made really welcome, the food is always delicious and nothing is too much trouble. We’ve been coming here for years on an evening, but went for Sunday lunch for the first time today. It was amazing. We had starters...and then chicken roast dinners all round, all well seasoned, loads of veg and just yummy! We’ll be back. X

our daughter took her mother and I to the Mother's Day. it was lovely. the aromen, as we waited for our food, wetted our appetit, and we were not disappointed. proper yorkshire portions large. beautifully cooked. I am hot. excellent service to complement the experience. the only disappointment we couldn't fit into pudding, as we were all full. two courses were more than enough.

came with my wife and another couple. space was very busy, but we had a table booked. the personal was attentive and friendly. the forerunners of garlic garnel were very nice, and the main thing (steak, sea bass, and fish’n’chips were good). only gave stars...as a) room was cold (although I know that the windows were open due to Covid measures), and b) there was no English senf for the steak unimaginable. Wow! I’ve eaten here in the past but my latest visit was the most memorable. Staff are always extremely courteous and just bubbly and friendly. They can’t do enough to help you. But. The food. Oh boy. My latest offering was the steak pie with home made chips. Nothing flash (you’d think) but you’d be wrong. I’d go as far as to say it’s the best pie ever to cross my lips and the chips were to die for. Thank you. I can’t wait to return for more yummy home cooked food.

we live quite locally, but had not visited many years until day I wish we had! Sunday dinner was the best we had eaten for a long time, there was a lot of sweet and meat and everything was perfectly cooked. a member. our group had the lasagne and also said that it was one of the best he had. also the chocolate cake for dessert was heavenly. the service is great and friendly and the pub was cozy and festive with traditional decorations. we will make this site definitiw a regular food-out option from now on.

"We arrived here for a 2 night stay for a wedding (Fri sat night). PROS: Lynsey the manageress she 100% makes it so fabulous. Lovely, welcoming, looked after us brilliantly. Due to some staff shortages, she was doing what seemed like 10 jobs at once! We ate on one of the nights food was delicious! Great service tasty food. Breakfast was also spot on set us up brilliantly for the day ahead on the Saturday! The Willow room which we stayed in was fab ideal size, lovely cosy too! The whole 2 night stay was extremely reasonably priced the place itself has a great feel about it like a big cosy house! CONS: If you like total darkness, take an eye mask for sleeping as the rooms can get really bright from the early hours. Also, depending on the room, it’s on quite a busy road so can be quite nosy it would be worth having earplugs if you like a quiet surrounding. Due to staffing, the bar doesn’t stay open that late, so be mindful of this, they will however put drinks in your room if you can’t make it back in time for the bar closing. Taxis there are no local taxis, so arranging transport to the wedding we were attending was a nightmare which we didn’t account for! Luckily after 6 different phone calls, we managed to get sorted. The only gripe I had was the confusion over the bill if you decide to charge things to your room, the bills aren’t itemised so it’s difficult to keep track of what has been charged. There was some confusion on checkout over what we should shouldn’t have been charged for, so definitely choose to pay for any extras outright to avoid any confusion or uncertainty before check out. Other than that, it was one of the nicest, most personal stays we’ve had out in a long long time. This was mainly down to the Manageress Lynsey who is fabulous at her job really does make it feel like home makes you feel super welcomed relaxed. Thank you lynsey for really making a stay a one to remember."
