"As new residents of the area we visited twice in February and March 2023. I was very surprised to read the recent negative reviews. Our experiece was exceptional on both occasions. In my opinion Los Abetos delivers exactly what you pay for, AAA quality food and service at the correct price, which is not (and should not be) cheap. This is a place to treat yourself on special occasions. If you want an everyday restaurant, or you prefer to eat cheap, processed food do not come here. If you want to enjoy the best quality meat and seafood, served by knowledgable and attentive staff who are proud of their restaurant I think you will be not be disappointed. The only caveat is that some might find the setting and atmosphere traditional. Personally I love this and the 100% focus on the food and service, but I understand if others prefer a more modern ambience."

"Estuvimos entre el 7 y 8 de enero del 2023 alojados en la habitación 206 del parador. Me esperaba mucho más de un Parador Nacional, y más por el precio que pagamos. El colchón era viejo, los muelles se me clavaban en la espalda, apenas puede pegar ojo. Por lo que me dió por sentarme en el sillón, y cuál fue mi sorpresa, que el asiento del sillón también estaba estropeado, también se clavan los muelles. "Blink and you might miss this, which you definitely shouldn't! It's just before a pretty busy junction, which you could easily overlook from the outside as you drive past, but it is a clean, modern, restaurant situated along the river. Speaking of which, you probably want to book in advance if you want a prime place overlooking it, otherwise there are plenty of places to dine alfresco, or inside with ample glass to still get the same experience on a breezy day. My top tip, is that you might not actually want that riverside seat during the daytime heat where you may have less shade. It's just as nice sitting further back under the umbrellas, and much cooler. Food selection and quality is good, if a little expensive, as is often my feeling, but approachable, accommodating service goes a long way. Portions can be ample, so some might like to enquire first and share between two. Salud!"

"The range, quality and variety of seafood on offer is outstanding. The owner presents you with a list of what is on offer that day, with prices. Discuss what you like with him, he’ll give you good advice and help you chose a suitable menu. We had Dublin Bay prawns, sole, and very interesting desserts. Everything was excellent. You could taste the ocean in the prawns, the sole was fresh and firm and boned in an instant at our table, it was served with a simple salad and potatoes. The restaurant is adorned with a vast range of reasonably priced wines. The standout dessert was a mock cappuccino made of coffee cream and goats cheese, with some delicious additions we couldn’t place. This is a serious restaurant, book to secure a table and settle in for a long lunch or dinner."
