"This might seem a little harsh to review, but this place was so frustrating. On a sweltering hot day we thought we'd stop by for a drink and took a table outside. It wasn't particularly busy, around half the tables were in use. The waitress clearly saw us, and then ignored us for at least 10 minutes, casually chatting to other customers while serving them in no particular hurry. She finally brought over the menus and seemed nice and polite, but then never came back to us to take an order for at least another 10 minutes, so we walked away, still very much thirsty. We could see other customers getting pretty frustrated too.I know the culture of these places in Germany is very relaxed, but this was way beyond that, and was downright poor. It really sticks out as it was probably the only poor service we received in a whole week holidaying in the region."

Efficient friendly service, piping hot delicious lasagne, pizza rucola very tasty with good pizza bases. We went twice and weren't disappointed on return visit. Good indoor and outdoor spaces. Closed Monday's.

The best place we ate in the Black Forest. The kids loved the carpaccio and the caprese was perfect. All pasta dishes were fresh and tasty. We drove 40 min for our second lunch in the place! Friendly staff and reasonable pricing. A must stop in Todtnau.

I had quite a nice plate of papardelle with foresta nera (sause of white wine, tomatoe, speck, etc). Others ate schnitzels. They where good, though not exceptional. It was a bit busy and the place seemed to be somewhat understaffed. So patience was required. Bit messy because of this. For this reason skipped desert. Espresso ristretto was very good.Price was pretty good. Ca 15 eur pp.Not a bad choise imo. Good value for money.

Stunning decor , brilliant location, very picturesque surroundings . It was quiet , so you could soak in the ambiance . I've noticed someone has posted that the lasagna was phenomenal. Yes it was ...... not in a good way. It was disgusting . What Italian cooks lasagna with layers of ham and cheese and no Bolognese sauce? It was a moussaka dish minus the aubergine with pasta instead . Considering it was an authentic restaurant with Italian staff, Shame on you for serving this and destroying an Italian national dish. Anyone who enjoys it, has no taste

This restaurant is ideally located in the square next to the church and the interior of the restaurant is stunning. We had lunch on a Saturday but the quality of the food seemed to be vary hit and miss. I had the pappardella with mushrooms and couldn't fault it at all. My friend, who is Italian, had the lasagna and did not enjoy it at all...its the first time she has found layers of ham in a lasagna and the cheese used in it was far from authentic. The side salad that we ordered as uninspiring too, nothing in it that defined it as Italian. The restaurant is worth a visit, but ordering a pizza or a simple pasta dish is advised.

Next to the main square and with a view of St. Johannes der Täufer (St. John the Baptist) church, this restaurant is in a lovely setting especially when sat outside. Excellent choice of pizza etc and very efficient, friendly service. Our pizzas were huge with a good helping of topping - and although not the cheapest we had found on our holiday they were still good value.Drinks were an average price for the area. Would have got 5 stars but the only diet coke available was AfriCola - not very nice and expensive at 2.60 Euro for a 200ml bottle. On the plus side it's open most of the day so fitted in with our late (15.00) lunch perfectly.

"We were recently on vacation at Todtnau. We have already been refreshed by this great Italian. And he's really great! In the end we were 4 times there from 7 days on holiday! Opposite the restaurant, a tree-lined avenue leads to the Todtnauer church, which looks down on a hill towards the busy highway. In front of the restaurant there are beautiful places on a fountain overlooking the Baumgasse and the church. Inside, the Hotel Restaurant/Pizzeria is beautifully decorated, with a lot of style and taste. Rooms are equipped with dark solid wood. The walls are walled and provided with subtle lights and black white pictures. On the right side of the restaurant are the particularly sought-after seats overlooking a walled oven where you can observe its pizza during its creation. Behind the counter is a mega espresso machine made of felt gold, which makes so delicious espresso or espresso Macchiato as we previously only drank in Italy. The controls are nice and a little set up, even if the shop is full. Where we come to my recommendation: to book in advance, otherwise you will not get a seat. Free parking is available on the side street, where you can also get a place at night when the restaurant is full. The food is also great. And that is not excessively formulated. The menu is big and for every taste is what. We have eaten during our visits: Gnocchi with Parma ham in Gorgonzola sauce, Tri Pasti, Carving Milanese, Crab Pizza, Pizza with rocket, Parma ham and Parmesan, baked Torteloni with minced meat and mushrooms, fitness salad and Tagliatelle with a spinach cream sauce. Everything very tasty and dressed with love. We sat every time, especially because we couldn't give up a side dish salad, which was simply great again with a delicious Frenchdressing, leaf salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, rocola and carrots: . In the afternoon we also enjoyed a tiramisu, latte Macchiato and an ice chocolate. So it's worth a visit. The price is still affordable, we are at 2nd with appetizer and espresso afterwards; so at 35 €, this is for quality, in my opinion. For us was the only thing that Bella Italia is so far from home; , we would have such an Italian with us, we would probably be a guest at least once a week. Great recommendation, especially for holidaymakers in the Todtnau Air Bath in the Black Forest."
