"My wife and I have dined at this restaurant a number of times over the years. The food is good. But the attention to detail when it comes to a customer is non existent. I ordered a half bottle of wine. The waiter poured me a glass then decided to move the menu blackboard to another location on the table. In the process he knocked over my glass of wine, half of it spilling on my lap. No apology. He grabbed some paper towels and cleaned up the spilt wine from the table and wall. He never offered to replace the glass of wine which equaled about a third of the bottle. My wife asked him for some soda water to try and limit the damage to my pants. He brought a bottle of sparkling water. All of this took place under the watchful eye of the owner. Not once did she approach the table. Here's the best part. At the end of the meal we realized they charged me for the sparkling water. I should have complained but I sat quietly, determined to never return again. There are a lot of bistros in Nice with better food and better customer service. I shall seek them out in the future."

This place is what Niçoise French food is all about! Fresh fish, tartar and so on. Great deserts too! The waiters don't fuss over you but they are not rude. I come for the food! Highly recommended!

I went there for a lunch and was lucky enough to find a place as they are almost everyday full with bookings. The food was great and the wine proposed by the server was awesome too.Prices are also not high considering the quality and taste of the food. I would highly recommend.. But make sure you book in advance..

It was our best meal in Nice. Great place, awesome casual atmosphere and authentic and simple food. Just 3-4 simple ingredients but full of flavour and very complex. We took testing menu and from starter to the dessert we were amaze by light squid, dory fish with cabbage, amazing duck with carrot and ginger and peach mousse with ice cream. Well done!

I would definitely recommend a visit to Le Bistrot d'Antoine. We went for dinner and the service and food was first class. Lovely typical French restaurant in the heart of the old town. Extensive menu which was hard to choose from but in the end went for the 5 course tasking menu which did not disappointYou will not regret a visit here and a must for anyone visiting Nice View menu

We ate here last night, food was fantastic. We started with risotto et boudi to share, black pudding soft and tasty as was the risotto and rocket, a delicious combination.I had cocotte de cocho, pigs cheeks cooked long and slow, soft tasty and fell apart with a fork, done in a delicious sauce. My wife had the duck, cooked to perfection, accompanied with a lovely fruit sauce. To finish we had a panna cotta and tiramisu, both delicious.A lovely meal from start to finish.

Ignore the bad reviews. The customer service and food here were both excellent and I seriously had one of the best meals of my life! (pork cheeks with polenta mash - soooo good!). Everything from start to finish was just so enjoyable, from the owner (?) on arrival who was so welcoming to the free tuna pate and bread you get before the meal, I loved it all. It's also surprising that this place is in the heart of tourist central, but trust me, try it! (and get the pork cheeks, I'm still dreaming about them).

This restaurant was absolutely outstanding! We went here today for lunch and was probably the best meal we have had in the south of France.Food was amazing I had the octopus risotto which was delicious and my partner had the chicken, both really decent servingsRidiculously well priced, both dishes and 2 beverages each cost us less than 50 euro! Also the best coffee I have had in Europe in three weeks (espresso) You must go here, you will not be disappointed It is small so advise to book ahead or get there as soon as they open at 12 to snag a table before it gets busy View menu

...make it Bistrot d'Antoine. I go there every time I am in the city, and it has not yet succumbed to the temptation to live on its established reputation and lower its standards. This time the tomato entrée, one of their specialities - lots of different coloured tomatoes in a stunning, subtle dressing - was as good as ever. My kidneys were wonderful and Linda's liver equally so, though I did look enviously at the splendid lump of rare beef a Frenchman was eating at the next table. Desserts were inspired compotes - cherries for me, pineapple and ginger for Linda. The house white wine is a fine dry Sauvignon. You need to book, though.

Unless you are a local avoid. Its a pretentious little restaurant and they only put on. the smiles for the locals and regulars. We got rude servis=ce , no menu of=r offer od=f a drink , just a point to the blackboard menu and "any questions". I could forgive all of this if the food was amassing .... Its not. Good but not outstanding and the steak was terrible. Guys lives to short to waste a whole night being treated like a second d class citizen because your not a regular. So many other options in the areas just go somewhere friendly and get a nice table , a welcome and enjoy.the old town. leave this rude little restaurant to themselves.
