"place is lively, fun, food very good, price attractive to moderate. one issue was service we received. it is hottest summer this week on record. we asked for beer and water with the food order. we ordered appetizers and entrees. the appetizers arrived but no...beer or water yet; we asked again but nothing; when paying the bill the beer was on check and waitress confirmed she forgot. but during our nearly an hour their all of the tables near us received water followed by cafe and deserts etc all were french speaking patrons we were Americans speaking bits of french. cant say it was because we weren’t french but all other restaurants in our days of this heat just keep bringing water to all tables. we drank my bottle of water from knapsack."

Tasty food, a very reasonable price. Good atmosphere and has a busy lunchtime crowd. Only dislike - seating a bit tight

Arriving at Best Western we needed a lunch and found this place around the corner. Very nice food, nice staff and good prices. Highly recommended.

Tonight’s recommendations was excellent. I am especially impressed with how the pork was prepared. The apricot cake was perfect and light. Portions were perfect.

This was great little bistrot full of locals who lunch here because they can find great food at bargain. The menu is not huge but anything you get here including the burgers is worth it.

In the heart of the old district, Le Corneille is indeed on a corner, and offers a very good budget menu. At lunchtime, we eat beautiful grilled gammon (three slices) with frites and salad, a monstrous 'petite' salad L'Itallienne (Lord knows how big the 'Grande' version is!), a Fromage Blanc to follow all for €26 - including a Limonade for Madame and a small press ion for me.

We walked up and down the streets of this area admiring the buildings but largely unimpressed by the lunch options we looked at. This one we came upon last and were very lucky. The set menu was a bit of a challenge to our French but we sorted ourselves out with the help of a fellow patron. Service was a bit wobbly but it didn't matter and we really felt we were in France. The food was good and the table (outside) was comfortable.

A really nice friendly Bistrot, full of locals at lunchtime and run very slickly by I think out front husband and wife and perhaps daughter. The plat du jour looked excellent but I had a small salad with bread and wine with tarte tatin to follow. If I lived or worked locally I would use it all the time. If you want a decent lunch I recommend you try Le Corneille. I would even give it try for dinner, I am sure you would not be disappointed.

Happened upon Le Corneille today in Tours. It's set in the non-trendy stretch of Rue Colbert, before it transforms into ultra-hip Rue du Commerce. That was fine with me, as it felt much more authentic. Really friendly professional waitstaff, and efficient, fast but not too...fast service, nothing forgotten; they also let me recharge my phone. euros for a lunch: some kind of spring rolls as appetizer, pork cheeks on an abundant bed of fresh spring vegetables as main course, excellent crusty bread, and a perfect moelleux de chocolat for dessert. I'd happily return.

Exactly the type of place we seek out for lunch when we're in France. Small, family run, small menu, good value, lunch specials, packed with locals and regulars...and it's in our hood, so we're locals. Really good lunch, fresh, perfect portion size, well cooked. We ate outside, a bonus, on a beautiful day. Our waiter was charming and efficient. He spoke English better than we speak French but indulged our murdering of their language and even complimented our pronunciation. See! Very charming! We met the owner, equally friendly and enthusiastic. Affordable drinkable wine made the day perfect. I wish I could be a regular.
