"We have been going to this restaurant over the years and celebrated birthdays, Valentines days and other Life celebrations there. Last night was the last time we went to this restaurant. They had an offer of a starter of Foie Gras with 5cl of Sauterne wine for €17.50. It was expensive but knowing that Sauterne wine is expensive I though that perhaps the price was justified. Since we don't like Sauterne, we ordered the Foie Gras without the Sauterne and paid for two glasses of white wine instead (they would not give normal white wine as a replacement to the Sauterne). For the main course, we had the Steak for €23.50 and the Lamb for €21.00. Though small, the steak tasted nice though the 5 little potatoes that came with it were underdone and the little bit of ratatouille was badly cooked (the aubergine was chewy and bitter). As for the Lamb, it was over done as well. When the bill came, we realised that they had charged us the full €17.50 (x2) for the starters. As we questioned it, they said that the Sauterne was "free" and that the Foie Gras was bought in France so that's why it was so expensive?!?! I am French and know the price of Foie Gras. The piece we got was in no way worth that money. Of course, when we asked for the manager, he was nowhere to be seen and there was no offer of a coffee or digestif to make up for it. I believe that previous comment of the food being average is right. I would add "completely overpriced" to that."

a nice mix between TOP Restaurant and Top Bistro. Everyone will find something, whether it's beer / wine at the bar or at the tables with or without a tablecloth.

Nice entourage, good food. I liked the menu, many options. We order a bunch of startes for the group. All great. And the main dishes also very good. No desserts but I liked the coffee.

Went for lunch and I am picky about my food (I am French), quite a nice brasserie, with traditional menu and daily specials. Sitting outside on the shade in a quiet street of Frankfurt was quite enjoyable. Also the service was faultless.

I Have visited the restaurant for dinner, and the food was very good. I like French cuisine, and I have to admit that the food served in Brasserie Du Sud, is very close to the original recipes.Bouillabaisse soup , for a starter is excellent. Definately a winner. Beef was very well cooked and the lamb too. Overall well prepared food. You can seat outside during warm days ( corner restaurant) . Service was very good too. If you are in town and want to taste French food then it is a winner.

We were there with my wife. Upon arrival we were presented with an impressive board with hand written menu. I ordered pasta with Trüffels. After finishing the starter (!) the waiter informed me that truffles are sold out... I asked if they had something vegetarian. The waiter said that he will check with the chef. No feedback. After 20 minutes we received the meal. As a replacement I got pasta with eggplant... Nobody asked me if this would be ok... but at the end I received the bill for pasta with Trüffel ... Pur profit for the restaurant... embarrassing... will not risk in the future. View menu

The food in this restaurant is tasty; at my visit, I had a salad with goat cheese, which was fresh and nicely prepared. The surroundings are very nice, especially the terrace in sunny weather. What spoiled this visit for me were two things: Firstly, the prices - not horribly overcharged, but it is rather pricey for what you get (this is about value for money, I'd like to emphasise that; I'm not saying the quality was bad, only that it was overpriced for what you got). And secondly, the unprofessional service, with unacceptably long waiting times first for the food, then for the bill, and then for the card payment after getting the bill. This is, for me, a sign of lack of professionalism, sin...

We asked for something off the menu, only to be told it was not available - it was pretty clear that wanted us to take something from the daily list.So we chose 2 things but asked for one with potatoes instead of risotto - otherwise they were from the daily list and should have been quick. It was an hour (yes, I am too patient) before I asked if they had forgotten us and got half an apology that they had (it arrived soon after). I asked if the food was therefore going to be free and got quite a rude "no".Then I got asked if I wanted dessert and simply told them that I no longer had time - at that point dessert was then offered for free ... creme brulee ... which I took and was very quick to a...
