Brasserie Excelsior

We had a wonderful dinner in a beautiful traditional French Brasserie. They nicely accommodated our daughter who is vegan. Food was traditional French from the region and very tasty.

We were only in Nancy for one day so we decided to have dinner here in order to view the decor. It is beautiful, but go for coffee or dessert. The food was average and overpriced. It was the most disappointing meal of our trip. Luckily, we had great meals everywhere else.

L'Excelsior was amazing. We had a fabulous meal. The ambiance was serene and made our group vacation feel so special. Girard d'pardieu was a thoughtful and attentive server. They provided English menus and were very kind. I would highly recommend eating at this establishment. Merci!

The beauty of the location is almost overwhelming. The staff is very nice & the food is simply out of this world!!! Especially if you take one of the offered menus you definitely won't be disappointed. The only downside is that the menu is only available in French, otherwise it would have been perfect

We dined the last evening of our two week vacation in this beautiful original Art Nouveau establishment. The dynamics and organization of an old renowned French restaurant was a pleasure to watch at. The dishes were also fine. The service (sometimes busy) was a bit too fast and sometimes it was a bit messy.

I had one hour in Nancy, waiting for a train and looked for a good restaurant close to the train station.I picked the fix menu and for a starter ordered the fisherman soup - was excellent.I asked for the house wine - very good.Main dish was the steak tartar - was very good and tasty . But the service - extremely slow......Not cheep but good value for the money.Recommended.

If you are an Art Nouveau aficionado a visit is an imperative. It is a sizable rests, well light qiantity and quality wise with the seating having an 'Orient Express' flair that the waiters emulate. seasonal and classica are to be found. Wine list adequate, manners and attitudes formal-polite. Quality of food not impressive possibly because the establishment is slightly vain-glorious. Walk and explore the vicinity.

A classy, beautiful restaurant dating back to the French Art-Deco period. The crème-colored tall space with splendid wall mirrors and wonderful detailing is just magnificent. Just after entering through the opulently stocked oyster counter you know that you are in a great Paris-like eatery. Try small dishes such as the Steak Tartar (A dish I only eat in places I completely trust), the Moules Frites in a white-wine cream sauce (To die for) or the scallops. I researched this place given Nancy's historical links to the Art Nouveau movement and remaining impressive examples of this extraordinarily beautiful architectural style. So surprising my wife in coming here was a bonus - the restaurant is exceptionally exquisite surviving example outside of Vienna or Paris - and a definite recommendation in visiting classy service in a matching surrounding. The staff are extremely professional and the food, while not the cheapest, was very tasty. I had a very tasty foie gras while my wife delighted in a delicious crabmeat salad for starters.
