The foods was a disappointment. All together we had several different dishes but just one dish was okay.

I went there with locals. I can feel a sense of maritime glory.in this lovely building. Food and service are good too.

The food and beer were excellent. Our waiter was very good, and spoke enough English to get us our meal and drinks. The atmosphere is most German. I highly recommend the place.

Excellent restaurant, where we tried the Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle) and the wienerschnitzel with cheese and mushrooms. The pork skin on the knuckle had become crispy crackling and the meat was very tender. Tried the Apfelstrudel, which was a bit doughy in the middle. Their dark beer was very good as well. The staff was very attentive. Would definitely go back...

Excellent Restaurant in the centre of Rostock directly on the Harbour. Main attraction, they brew their own Beer!With that in mind the food is traditional German and some is flavoured with their own brewed Beer.Prices are resonable with excellent quality food.The Restaurant is build in a Brew house style with a lot of infos about brewing and most importent, the beer is also very good.

We visited the Braugasthaus Zum alten Fritz during the week with a party of about 20 persons. The restaurant is virtually on the waterfront only a short walk from the city shopping centre. The service was very good and the food was served punctually and hot - as would be expected the beer refill service was efficient.The menu has a wide variety of dishes on offer from fine to rustic, The food is presented well, is of good quality and tasty.Worth a visit whilst in Rostock.

We visited this gorgeous venue on the recommendation of a Rostock local after a busy day of sightseeing around the region. The service was friendly and helpful, and the waiter spoke English which was a great help. I had the ragout of venison which was tasty and tender. Served with fried bread dumplings which were also delicious and washed down with two of the Zwicklefritz, local beers, a light and a delicious dark velvety beer. My partner had fish soup which he said was delicious. Stortebeker soup. Highly recommend.

We stopped for lunch here as part of an escorted tour of Rostock. We were offered a choice of German specialties. I enjoyed the venison goulash, although this is probably too heavy a choice for lunch; the portion was huge and I ate only half of it. Lots of choices for beers. Service was fast and efficient. The seating is comfortable, the brewery atmosphere is fun, and it's right on the harbour for nice views after your meal (or during your meal, if the weather is conducive to eating on the patio). A good place for a meal and some beverages when you are in Rostock.

Located near the port of Rostock and walking distance (5 mins)from the center), this is a typical German brewery/pub and one of the better spots to choose if in the town. We followed the Tripadvisor rating and since we were looking for something traditional this was our natural choice.The atmosphere is a typical one and if you have been to such kind of places in Germany, then you have seen it all. The bar, though, is impressively designed and I enjoyed looking at it. As one could expect the cuisine is the traditional German one, but this time I was pleased to try some really regional ( Hamburg-Northern Germany) meals and somehow I liked it more than what you could have in the south of German...
