"We are regular visitors to the Buttercup and thought it time we left a review. The Buttercup is a great pit stop if just passing through or enjoying the walks and history in the area. It’s comfortable inside and the staff are always friendly and helpful. There is outside seating available for good weather days. The menu is varied with some good vegetarian options and they have a specials board which is changed regularly. All the food is made fresh to order and of a very high standard with some really nice dishes on offer. I recommend the Scandi Club or Steak Sandwich. Great selection of home made cakes and bakes. All in all a well run and welcoming establishment. They also take bookings. If you go take the time to explore the Doune Chic independent shops behind the cafe."

secret tip seaweed delicious very friendly house made cake and torte, also the burger at the table next door looked very tasty so if they happen to be in scottland they have to go here to drink coffee!

this busy little caffe in doune is one of my favorites. the workers are all beautiful, eating is fresh, well presented and there are many choices and regular specialties. the cakes are amazing and it will not break the bank. View menu

This is my favourite cafe. The food is always fresh delicious tasty. They do gluten free stuff without fuss. The staff are lovely. The menu is great. The special a few weeks ago was mushroom ristto.....it was the best I've ever had.....please do it again!

Popped in with our 3 boys yesterday and were very impressed. Our dairy allergic son says that the vegan chocolate cake was the best cake he has ever had! The selection of cakes was great and the friendly service fantastic. Will definitely come back that way again.
