"Returning customers from last year. What a transformation of the cafe and the lovely addition of the shop. Love the outside decking area. Made to feel very welcome again. The bovi breakfast is awesome. The team are so friendly, and their customer service with a smile is much appreciated. Was nice to be remembered from last year, too! Highly suggest trying the carrot cake. Oh, and the honeycomb ice cream, omg! We have eaten there for breakfast twice so far this week and will do again before we head home. If you have a dog (or more) they are welcome and even give your dog a treat. I love the binoculars on the windo sill so you can see what's happening at sea. Well done for all your hard work getting the cafe and shoo up and running. It's fabulous. Hope to return next year and see what other changes have happened. Love your t-shirt design also. If you pay a visit, be friendly to the staff. They work their butts off, and no one deserves to be treated without respect and kindness."

We go back to this cafe regularly after taking our dog for a run on the nearby beach. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the food never fails to impress. The Apple crumble and custard in particular was outstanding. It's a great little place that is definitely worth a visit.

Another great experience on visiting Cafe Bovi today. Always a warm welcome and positive vibe here. We had tuna paninis today which were delicious as always, and the husband couldn't resist a bowl of homemade apple crumble and custard after. Just perfect after walking our pooch on the beach.

We visited Bovisand Cafe today for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It was so much more than what we'd expected! Warm welcome, great variety of food and drinks and friendly staff. We tried the red pepper soup as well as the French onion soup and they were beautifully presented and delicious. Will definitely be back. View menu

I had a lovely walk on the beach with my dog and grandchildren, and we stopped at this restaurant for breakfast. We had fried breakfasts, bacon sandwiches, Chia Coffee, milkshakes, smoothies, and hot chocolate. The staff were very welcoming and even provided treats for our dog. This restaurant is a hidden gem and is perfect for both humans and our furry friends.

Very friendly little cafe we only discovered on our last day , we we’re staying on the chalet park where is advertised a cafe and shop on site but unfortunately it’s only open Fri sat and Sunday which I get in October half term, the owner is quite new and making changes slowly , she was very friendly and clearly loves her little business which shows , we had breakfast sandwiches and piping hot lattes which we enjoyed.

Fantastic cafe with a varied menu. We were only planning to eat sandwiches but were pleasantly surprised to find hot meals on the menu. Lovely pasty and chips and cheeseburger. Other people were having sandwiches or paninis and these looked appetising too. It wasn't too busy as the weather had been wet but there were plenty of friendly staff ready to serve if more customers appeared! Very affordable and the view is not bad either! View menu

Cheap nasty ingredients, boring menu. I was hoping a change of management would mean quality food interesting menu, no such luck!! Had a toasted sandwich, cheap sliced supermarket bread, plastic ham not hot inside!! Quality of food here is awful. I am local was hoping to be a regular, no way!! Picnic for me in future. Unsurprisingly doesn’t get very busy, hottest day of the year at lunchtime I am only customer sitting outside. Will never come back! Location is wonderful, but with awful food can only fail, locals definitely won’t come.

The café was clean and welcoming, especially on a rainy and windy day. A group of us enjoyed delicious hot turkey toast with all the fixings. We were in Plymouth for a family celebration and the owners were very friendly towards our lively group. The apple crumble was perfect for a cold winter day and the lemon curd sponge was heavenly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with lovely people like Jane, Eddy, and Heidi. The only downside is that the café is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but hopefully that will change. We had a great time enjoying karaoke and some pre-Christmas cheer. Thank you again, Victoria.

"The positive is that the food is good. But the negative is the service time and the attitude of the staff. We were seated and had our order taken after 20 minutes. A little slow but it was a busy Saturday evening so understandable. Starters came promptly and were eaten. We then got ignored by every passing member of staff for at least 50 minutes. Quite the skill! Once there was a break in our conversation and I realised how long it had been, I stood up to intercept a waitress and asked “are our mains on the way, please?” Our ticket was checked by her at the kitchen hatch and we were told “yes”. At this point our starter plates were cleared after they had sat on the table for at least 35 minutes. Our mains then took another 25 minutes to get to us, so I suspect that being told they were on their way was a lie. To be clear: we were given our mains 1hr 20 mins after placing our order. I complained to a waitress who sent over a manager. The manager asked if we’d had starters (yes, we had) and said that it was our fault our main was so late as we’d had a first course. How insulting!!! Blaming the customer for their bad service. Disgusting. When I said it was still far too long to wait between courses she then changed tack and said the kitchen was “really really busy” well, they weren’t busy cooking our food now were they?! And despite the place being full when we arrived, by this point of the night over half the tables were empty. There were 3 tickets on the pass along with ours and tables were 2 4 people (no large groups) so I feel that was also another lie to get out of it. What a shocking way to treat customers! My advice to you is: if you want your food served in a timely manner, either take the advice of the manager and don’t order a starter, or, be sure to communicate with waitstaff once your first course is finished and ask for your main to be cooked and served promptly. (Note: food also sat under the heat lamps for long lengths of time as staff stood socialising with one another behind the bar rather than serve customers) I hope this advice is of use as I would have appreciated it ahead of my visit! Good luck. [Reading other reviews, ours is not the only experience of slow service and seeing staff chat to one another rather than deal with the customers paying their wages.
