"Terrible experience. Our waitress made an innocent mistake with the drink in my order. The “manager” took this out on me, shouted at me in the restaurant in the presence of other customers and refused to let me state the actual situation for clarity. My distaste for the incorrect drink was described as a “taste test” by the manager. He also refused to provide me with another drink. Furthermore, he continued to shout at the poor waiter infront of the other customers. He did not apologise to me or her. Overall, a horrible, embarrassing experience for a birthday outing. I will not be visiting again."

Nice enough food but ruined but ridiculously bad service. Chipped plates. Didn't clear starters before bringing mains. Had to go looking for service.

Excellent menemen with soft, warm Turkish bread and good Turkish coffee. It is a lovely room with a great laid back vibe. All our breakfasts were tasty and looked lovely too. Charming service. Will be returning.

The food at this restaurant is incredible and the staff are amazing. The service is top-notch, a definite 10 out of 10. It is undoubtedly the best food around, offered at a reasonable price in a very welcoming atmosphere.

Awful experience all our mains arrived and they had forgotten one them. Our Meze starter arrived at end of the meal. It seems the owners were more interested in dining with their friends than serving the customers. With so much choice in stoke Newington sure how they survive

I visited this restaurant on a Saturday. It is conveniently located near Rectory Road tube station. The food here is incredibly tasty and the portions are generous. The meat was very tender, and the salad and hummus were heavenly. I especially enjoyed the toasted wraps. The staff were lovely and helpful, providing excellent service. I highly recommend this restaurant. View menu

In contrast, the British people speak loudly and sit comfortably, so there seems to be some other form of discrimination at play here, which is very disappointing. If you speak Turkish with a proper accent, I would advise speaking softly and not crossing your legs. Otherwise, you may risk being asked to leave. However, if you speak English, there doesn't seem to be an issue.

I eat in here almost once a week. When I moved to the area last year just as the 1st lockdown was ending and waking up on the Saturday after a hard days moving I came here for a fry and boy is it a fry. It’s no Ulster fry but it is a great fry. Roll forward a year and I have tried a lot of the delicious food on the menu. Their lamb ribs are amazing. I would highly recommend any lamb dish here. Not only is the food good but the service is great too.

"A friend and I stumbled on to this neighbourhood restaurant by chance; no research, no booking, no expectations. We were then blown away by the quality of the food: wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully cooked. The service is also exemplary. I've always enjoyed calamari, but this was by far the best I've ever had: truly succulent and juicy. The mussels were almost as good, and the sea bream kept up the standard. The spiced quince with ice cream made a nice change from baclava in a Turkish restaurant (they still threw in some baclava). The owner, Tony, provides excellent recommendations — make sure you take them! He knows what's fresh that morning, and how his wife cooks it. The bill comes hand-written, and Tony forgot to include the wine (obviously I corrected him). I can't remember the last time a restaurant bill made a mistake in the customers' favour! No service charge is included, and it deserves a lot more than the usual 12.5%. This is a wonderful, old-fashioned restaurant, run by a charming old couple, committed to maintaining old-fashioned standards. The food is more than great and the prices more than reasonable. Service is personal, honest and responsive (providing Tony turns his hearing aid on). Tony warns you if anything you wanted was bought in, rather than home-made. Why don't unassuming but wonderful restaurants like this get Michelin stars?"
