"The laughably poor Irish coffees were almost understandable, but not actually sure how a ‘French restaurant’ albeit fauxFrench, can actually cook a baked Camembert and get it so wrong. The rest of the food was just poor, added to which was generally haphazard service pushy and rushed at the start of the meal vs slow and uncoordinated for after dinner drinks and deserts. We have had passable Aubaine before in Mayfair, but this was just a big fail for Ken’ High St’"

"I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. While the staff were friendly, they seemed uninterested in providing good service. The maitre'd spent over 40 minutes chatting with one table, neglecting other customers and showing unprofessional behavior. The food was only average, nothing stood out, and the presentation was lacking. I would not recommend this restaurant and I have no plans to visit again."

"I had a wonderful afternoon at this restaurant, which catered exceptionally well to my vegetarian dietary needs. Instead of the typical boring sandwiches, they offered a variety of delicious options. The venue itself is absolutely stunning—a true hidden gem! The decor features amazing artwork from around the world. The service was excellent, and our waiter was very attentive. I will definitely return in the future!"

"I took my mum and mother in law for high tea and we were delighted the moment we stepped in, amazing decor and absolutely stunning dining hall! Never seen anything like that before! We booked via phone and we were asked for card details first I was bit reluctant but they explained due to everything made fresh for diners we want to make sure nothing goes to waste as they do not take walk-ins, they also assured card won't be charged until dining and there is no cancellation fee if cancelled in advance, which made sense! We like afternoon tea/high tea but I can assure I have never had such an amazing tea before! Everything was so fresh, from scones to sandwiches and pastries! They also gave us surprises with hot and cold canapés which were freshly baked! Which made sense for calling it high tea! As there was so much to eat, freshly baked hot bread with butter was scrumptious! We will be back it was the best high tea we ever had!"

"Amazing food! They had a good range of options on the menu. I think there'd be something to suit everyone. The prices were pretty good. The only downside was that it didn't seem as clean as I would like. The table was a little sticky and the knives and forks weren't clean but I am very picky about cleanliness. We went around 1 and it didn't seem too busy but the food took around half an hour to come. It was definitely worth waiting for! Service: Dine in"

"The food was terrible. I couldn’t even drink the coffee, the croissant was too oily and it wasn’t made with puff pastry. No comments about the Royale eggs two bricks with a sticky sauce. First time I need to write a review complaining about the food of a restaurant in London. Don’t go, there’s plenty of fantastic places for brunch in London which are even cheaper than this one. The fake lavender decoration doesn’t deserve these prices."

"Staff were friendly and welcoming, and it’s always nice to be seated more spaciously at a table for if you are only in the party. Food came quickly and as described, and the main course lamb was truly excellent..tender, flavourful, and wellpresented. Liked the way of presenting a limited selection of desserts on a tray so you can see what you are getting. Would definitely return if nearby again"

"Food was consistently cold and even when sent back returned luke warm. Despite failure to get starters right, the second course was also cold. Servers were kind and considerate, but inexperienced. The manager done his best to save situation, taking dishes off bill and a round of free drinks. Which was appreciated. So we left as content, as we could but we would never go back and would never recommend. We had read similar reviews to this and should have listened to the feedback."

"It wasn't as busy as I remembered when I came more regularly ten years ago or so. But the service was friendly, food was served very quickly and the ambience inviting and welcoming. Will likely return."

"I am giving this restaurant 3 stars because of a couple of really lovely waiting staff. However, that 's where the good stuff ends sadly. I had not visited this restaurant for about 4 years and was very disappointed with the food and management. The starter of courgette flower was almost cold inside but I was hungry so didn 't mind to much. I then ordered the steak which was burnt around the edges and super chewy. The steak was extremely salty while the rest of the dish (sauce, broccoli, etc) was not seasoned enough. I didn 't finish it and when I told the waitress why, she informed her manager who more or less shrugged. Perhaps she should have been inspecting the dishes before they left the pass? Then we asked for the bill and another member of staff brought it to us she was extremely unfriendly and put it on the table without even acknowledging us I have no idea why she works in this industry when she quite obviously hates it. This was a sad day, as we used to rave about the vegetarian fine dining experience there. Now it 's over priced pre show pub grub at best. Our bill was over a hundred pounds too. The tables have been increased, so you can forget about an intimate dinner, its more like a cafe. We will not be returning!"

"we came here because of a henne do (not the screaming art before a few weeks and they could not have been honestly accommodating and beautiful anymore. some of our guests were almost an hour too late for car problems, but the staff was so friendly and nice about, never feel us in the wise or that they frustrated. communication was also excellent. eating was absolutely incredible, best fajitas I ever had (and I had a lot and all of us really enjoyed our meals, for all taste and requirements very good. "I just wasn’t satisfied with the Hotel itself. No spoon to stir my tea/coffee with (in the room) No initial towels (even though I asked for extra and they replied promptly) It’s a decent place once you arrive and looks nice but I ended up finding someone else’s underwear in my room. Had to call front desk for towels Shower head was taped down (was leaking from the sides). Very boring room, unappealing but the view was probably the best. The bed felt nice. Granted they are under renovation but you’d think they would take extra care of those staying there. Not just some £10 voucher. The worst is the keys. Hated opening my own hotel room because you have to Jimmy it a few times. Don’t like the big hall pass attachment to the key either. Doesn’t fit in pockets or anything I look forward to the new improvements and will not be staying unless I stay in a new bedroom."

"Although I am not vegan myself, my husband is, so I don't usually dine at fully vegan restaurants with him. However, we decided to give it a try and had a wonderful date night at this restaurant a week ago. The crispy courgette flowers starter and chipotle mushrooms main course were delicious and well worth the cost. We had a great time and would definitely come back. It's nice to see the growing vegan scene in London with so many excellent options to explore, and I hope to visit more places like this in the future."

"although the restaurant was not overcrowded, eating was delivered in the wrong order, our cots come at the same time as our main courses. the main course was very poor cod with Thai curry was cold and tasteless (an achievement to make a curry so bland! I ordered as a page, described as 'old grains', which turned out to be quinoa, why not say so on the menu? again it was cold and tasteless. the restaurant confirms itself as open to 10 o'clock, but until 9.15 the staff began to turn the air conditioning so that it was so cold we had to wake up our hunting, even if we had not finished our meal, turn off the lights and begin to clean adjacent tables and clean the floor of the kitchen area we sat near. overall the attitude was involuntary, and eating (compared to what I bought in the deli in the past was very bad. I wouldn't eat there again or recommend to others to do this."

"I didn't realize this restaurant was in a hotel, but we figured out our direction and made it in time for our reservation all the same. Laurel on the Roof is a cozy restaurant with panoramic views of London. We went for brunch and I had the full English breakfast and my husband had the French Toast, both of which were fabulous. We paired the meals with mimosas and other breakfast cocktails, which were well balanced. The wait staff were attentive but not overly enough to bother you. We felt free to enjoy our meal at a leisurely place. It was a great meal to end our trip to the UK."

"Creative, intimate colorful! Service is friendly witty and international. We ate with a big group at the harvest table, long, cozy, and accommodating for people to join us! Sangria was awesome. Accommodating for meat eaters, snickers, vegetarians, and creative take on international favorites"

"We visited here for breakfast and ordered the acai bowl and smoky beans, scrambled tofu and avocado ssuce on toasted sour dough with a refreshing ginger jack juice. Both breakfast dishes were delicious and set us up nicely for the day ahead. Inside the interior is bright and spacious and there's a nice chilled vibe. Staff are friendly too. Would visit again for sure."

"Lovely location, and good weather enabled everyone to sit outside on the sunny terrace. The staff were friendly and welcoming and provided good service, but the food was disappointing. Some sandwiches were dry, tasted as though they'd been made the day before. The waiter replaced it promptly with another dry sandwich. The desserts were small taster size portions (which was fine) but did not appear freshly made. The cream tea part of the menu was nice, but again a very small scone. The gluten free option was preferred over the regular afternoon tea by our group."

"We were here spontaneously on Sundays to brunch can only recommend it. The staff were very friendly have good recommendations. The restaurant itself is nicely furnished you sit comfortably. Drinking food is great. Mineral water is very good from Ireland (was not everywhere so). The coffee (Americano flat White) were good. The food we ordered, the Eggs Benedict and the French Toast were very well made and very tasty. Also the toilets were clean, even if only accessible via a staircase. All in all clear recommendation. The next visit to Dublin will be back!"
