"If you have never experienced the atmosphere of a "Bouchon Lyonnais", take a small detour from Geneva to experience the real thing. Cozy atmosphere where tables are pushed close together so patrons can meet and talk and exchange ideas and feelings. Decor includes antique Lyonnais marionettes hung on the wall.Be ready for a hearty meal - chef Jean-Marc Roman serves up classic Lyonnais dishes like veal sweetbreads with morel-cream sauce accompanied by a gratin of pasta with cream; and andouillette in a mustard sauce with classic gratin of potatoes made in Lyonnais style (lots of garlic and cream). Beautiful starters like home-made foie-gras and "peasant" salad with mixed greens, bacon and eggs.I do not know where Roman finds the stellar but reasonably priced Cotes du Rhone wines he serves by the carafe, but it is worth the trip just for that.Great value at 31 euros for a three-course meal at dinner time."

Typical Lyonnaise cooking for the dinner. Loved it. Great service, and friendly people. Had a blast at a very affordable price.

Last Tuesday night while we were overnighting in Lyon, the chef was featuring a super-tight menu of Japanese dishes featuring pork, veggies or beef - View menu

This is my local caf! It is very nice! Good quality cooking and walking distane from the house and it is open Monday when all else is closed! Cuisine Lyonnaise of a high standard. It is not a large place and the interior is quaint. Booking recommended as it gets full at lunchtime with local workers.

We discovered this pleasant cafe ( bouchon lyonnais ) by chance and we came away pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and excellent service. As it was a sunny day we sat on the terrace at the back ( access via the kitchen ), it was like eating in the garden and very sheltered, good atmosphere. The tables inside are typical but outside is certainly cosy. Good choice of food and also special dishes off the menu. Menu is 32Euros for 4 courses and well worth the money. Wine is very reasonably priced. Typical Lyonnais food, nicely presented. View menu

Quality traditional Lyonnais cork cuisine in a warm atmosphere and pleasant service. I highly recommend booking. Just a small downside, the wine list is limited in choice... some emblematic wines are missing to accompany all these delicious dishes... Kid-friendliness: Children are accepted but it is more of a restaurant for friends and epicureans. Wheelchair accessibility: Access ramp present outside and inside for access to the toilets. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Œuf Cocotte

If you've never experienced the atmosphere of a Bouchon Lyonnais, take a small detour from Geneva to experience the real thing. Cozy atmosphere where tables are pushed close together so patrons can meet and talk and exchange ideas and feelings. Decor includes antique Lyonnais...puppets hung on the wall. Be prepared for a hearty meal Chef Jean-Marc Roman serves classic Lyonnais dishes such as veal sweetbread with multi-kream sauce accompanied by a gratin of pasta with cream; and Andouillette in a mustard sauce with classic gratin of Lyonnais-style potatoes (garbage and cream). Nice appetizers like homemade foie gras and farmer's salad with mixed greens, bacon and eggs. I don't know where Roma...

"We arrived on our roadbikes on a Sunday, hungry and looking forward to a nice lunch on the terrace. The waitress was friendly and quickly took our order. About 20 minutes later, the patronne arrived at our table and claimed only she could take food orders, and we were in a queue behind others. Not a good start, seemed rather odd and inefficient... Our drinks arrived 35 minutes after sitting down. When we enquired when our salads and plate of cold hams would be arriving (we 'd been there 40 minutes , we were told this was not a restaurant where you should be in a hurry. In the meantime, the table next to us, who’d had a large 3-course lunch and wine, asked to pay. They were told no credit cards are accepted. The husband was embarassed, and started to count out his Euros as he had no Swiss Francs... only to be informed by the patronne , that the establishment is a restaurant and not a bank!! Outrageous given the prices charged (CHF 40+ for a main course and given it 's aspiration to be an upmarket establishment (one that clearly does not welcome cyclists ... . We cancelled our food order, asked for the bill, and left. The only reason for the one star rating is that the mise en bouche was tasty. We know the good restaurants in the Geneva region and will certainly not return to this one only to be barked at by a bad-tempered pretentious “patronne” (who doesn 't even assist her one hard-working waitress who 's run off her feet ."
