"We arrived into town late in the evening and just wanted to find somewhere local to grab a quick bite on a very hot night! Found Cafe Schilling, with loads of people sitting outside on the large deck: looked nice so we gave it a go. I had a very good salad (so many 'ordinary' German restaurants make salads so much better than other countries... I wonder why that is? ... The boss also had a salad and that was good too. Topped off with a glass of wine each. Very nice and just what the doctor ordered. The people seemed to be locals and even though it was a Thursday evening seemed nice and chilled (tough considering it was still around 25 degrees C and humid!"

Hood spot for a big or small breakfast. They baked me fresh gluten free bread which was delish! Nice outdoor seating.

We have been here to eat twice and both times we have enjoyed the food, the service, the menu options and the atmosphere. Cheers!

Good for brunch on a quiet weekend.. Possibility to sit outside when the weather allows... View on the street though. Not easy to park around. Place can be crowded too. View menu

Great place to go after work and relax, eat dinner or just have a coffee. Nice and friendly staff. If you are looking for a place to have a good conversation with a friend and enjoy the atmosphere its a good choice.

This is a quite nice place that we visit quite often. They have always something good to eat...the special daily offers are nice. Had a good breakfast here:) No problem with my mini dog. We love it especially in the warm days wjen you can sit outside. Food- mainly German.

Had the bacon wrapped sheep cheese salad with added turkey breast. All fresh ingredients. No complaints here, dressing was tasty as well, I usually do oil and vinegar but they said the dressing was homemade so I stuck with that. It didn't disappoint! I also tried some banana beer! It was different, but not bad! Also had some ginger tea with peppermint and honey. I think the food was reasonably priced and tasted good! View menu

I discovered this restaurant by doing a search for gluten free offerings in the Stuttgart area. They had pasta and while there was a brief language barrier between the server and I, we finally figured out what would be safe for me and I had spaghetti with shrimp (prawns). The service was slow, but it looked like he was the only one working, so I can accept that. The food was very good, the portion was large, and the price was reasonable. Overall, highly recommended - especially if you are gluten free.

I've heard a lot about this cafe, so finally decided to try it. It was at lunch time. The place has a nice ambiance, sort of old-time saloonish on one side and typical cafe on the other side. It would be great in warm season with tables outside. There was no English menu, so I told the waiter I'd like an omlette. Lots of plates went by that looked really good, but when my omelette came, it was dry and over-cooked. I ate it anyway without complaint. I think I'll give this restaurant another try, but need to figure out how to order one of those yummy plates that passed my table!

"beautiful restaurant in historical village in the middle of the old town. large outdoor area above the restaurant. large selection of very good cold and warm appetizers. we found the appetizers a bit too lavish, after that it is almost full and leaves little space for the main dishes and that would be a pity. all very dressed. you can also recommend the main dishes (kalbsgulasch in tomate and lammgulasch with peperoni, zwiebel and rice). maybe a little too much oil in the hot pan at the lamb's dish. reasonable selection of weeping, well described in the map and well tempered. so good. the service leaves to be desired. we had already noticed this at the last visit. we had preordered on 19 o'clock and are approx. 19:10 arrived. our table was not yet prepared or covered. After we had our table it took about 20 minutes until we had a menu card and another 10 minutes until we could order drinks. this is certainly going to be more fleeting (even if the chief apologised that is just a holiday time and therefore little personal etc.)..well...the restaurant was well visited and for that one has to plan accordingly. then the appetizers and main dishes came at reasonable intervals as that is. while paying, however, it has again taken 20 minutes, despite multiple demand. also the bill was wrong / too high. but was corrected under further apologies. so as to conclude: eat very well, service still expandable."
