"Arrived pre booked for a birthday lunch on bank holiday to find the door closed but managed to get someone's attention we gather there was a family problem and did receive an apology that our booking had not been recorded. However ushered in, the menu is small and we ordered burgers which were home made and tasty with good home made slaw and lovely fries, I gather they do a Sunday roast and was surprised that it was not on offer, the menu appeared to be mainly breakfasts with a few pub type snacks and cream teas. Perhaps we need to return to see what things are like when normal."

Stopped in here for a bite to eat after going horse riding. Food was tasty and reasonably priced and the lady who served us was so friendly and great with my two young children

This food truck is inconsistent and unreliable ever since the new owner took over. There are some days when the owner doesn't show up, like on a recent Tuesday. When asked about it, she simply replied, "sh*t happens." The service is not good.

My mate and I were motorcycling around Devon and on a whim pulled up at the Cafe Scrumptious for some breakfast. we were not disappointed. Great coffee and a really tasty full English breakfast was served by very friendly staff. Really impressed and left feeling ready for the road.

Superb staff we felt so welcome as soon as we stepped foot in the door. We turned up without a booking last Sunday morning absolutely starving, and they were so kind and accommodating despite being fully booked for Sunday lunch that afternoon. They were able to cater for vegans and vegetarians, and we left full and happy (the food was fab! Massive portions! . Thank you so much for looking after us cafe scrumptious, we'll be back when in the area!

My husband and I visited for breakfast last week whilst on holiday at Wilson’s Cottage, and had the place to ourselves. We were headed for Lydford Gorge and our breakfast certainly set us up for the day. My husband had an English Breakfast and I had Scrambled Egg on toast with mushrooms (which I thought was a smaller option) but we both had loads of food and it was delicious. Nice pot of tea and quick service too. We did try to bring our friends back for coffee and a cake one afternoon but we didn’t realise they closed at 4pm, so that was a shame.

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
