"The reality is so far from their description that I’m surprised they haven’t been questioned by trading standards for lying. The waitress bar person (not her fault needs training) had no clue about anything. Took 15 minutes to get a cocktail because she kept running out the back to get information. I asked what the soup of the day was and she didn’t know so had to go and check. Then asked what the curry of the day was and she said “I think it’s chicken”, I replied “chicken what” and she said “chicken curry” . You couldn’t make it up. I then asked if the lamb shank was fresh and local and she said “yes I think so” so that’s what I ordered. The lamb arrived 10 minutes later and was awful. Tough as cow skin and had clearly been frozen and or microwaved. The mash was like school dinner mash and the veg had also been frozen. The following morning we went for breakfast and it was the cheapest nastiness ingredients I’ve tasted. The sausages we wet and were clearly about 10% pork and the bread that had been put next to the toaster was still frozen in the middle. I would rather starve than ever set foot in this place again."

Food was ok but the service was very poor. Very slow, ordered a drink which didn't arrive. The staff were friendly but unprofessional and the dessert menu was just read out to us instead of being left for us to look at and consider! Disorganised and quite a blase approach.

Food was a massive let down. All courses excluding dessert were very oily greasy and gave us a queasy feeling for both myself and partner. The only positive of the restaurant was the service provided. The only reason the score isn’t lower is due to a good breakfast and good service from Tricia.

Not an extensive menu, typical pub food but suited our taste. I had lamb shank with very smooth mash and an extra jug of gravy, shame the veg were frozen. Hubby had scampi and chips which he really enjoyed. We shared a cheeseboard, not very exciting but tasty. Service was very good, staff were lovely just not very experienced but they did their best.

Staff are very friendly and attentive. We were a large group of 20 and after starters, my 7 month old became fussy and my main was left until I returned with her so it didn't go cold. Very accomodating! Especially with such a large party. We've also enjoyed the Sunday Roast a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time! Nothing but good things to say about the restaurant, staff and food!

When I arrived my family were already sat at the table. It was a warm day so I picked up a glass from the table to have water. It was so dusty it looked opaque, my cutely was all dirty. My starter came mushroom) the pasty was soggy and under cooked. The children had pizza limited basic child’s menu) it was the quality of a basic unbranded super market value pizza. Cheese just melted no colour. I definitely think it needs a new hygiene assessment, When I spoke to the staff all young, no senior member) I was told to ring or email. I’ve done both since and to date no reply. It could be such a wonderful place. It just looked said and run down.

The menu is ok, you can kind of cater for all tastes. My partner made a good choice with curry of the day. The portion size was good and the pieces of chicken were huge and he said tasty. Only flaw was accompaniments rice, naan AND chips!!! 3 carbs! You don’t need chips (or they could have been a choice instead of rice so what about a vegetable side to go with it? My choice was poor half a rack of ribs (smaller than my hand! I’m not a big eater but even I was surprised at how small they were. Came with chips, coleslaw and garlic bread. Again you didn’t need the bread with chips and coleslaw was 2 mouthfuls so sides could have been better (bigger coleslaw, beans, corn on the cob etc Desserts...

Well, where to begin. Don't normally write reviews but this was quite an experience. Reading other negative reviews I would have to agree, food was very basic and clearly not fresh but probably frozen, reheated etc... This is below cheap major chain standards which the website did not give the impression of and certainly didn't charge in line with quality. Burger was sopping wet, not sure how they managed that. Staff also totally untrained and had no idea how to conduct themselves in a restaurant environment or knew much about what they were serving, they were all pleasant enough and feel for them as clearly didn't have any support or supervision. Basics were totally absent such as checking...

"My wife and I booked a table at the Cinnamon Tree on Tuesday for the Sunday early evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I checked their web site first before booking as the actual date was on the Monday. Finding out that they did not...open on Mondays we opted for the Sunday. I telephoned the restaurant and made the booking. the person on the other end of the telephone repeated my details and time date ect. We turned up at the restaurant to fined it was closed with a sign on the door stating that they did not open on Sundays and Mondays. We got back in the car and went to turn around at the back of the restaurant and I saw a door at the back of the restaurant open. I stopped the car and went to the door and found someone in the kitchen. I told them that I had booked a table for that night and he confirmed what we had found out with the notes on the door. He then telephoned the owners of the restaurant and he put me on the telephone and I spoke to the owners partner and she said they have not been open for several weeks owing to staff shortages. I asked the lady why the booking had been taken as the staff must be aware of when the restaurant is closed or open and I had gone by their web site. She replied we haven't bothered to up date our web site and will not be doing so and have not bothered to blank out Sundays on the book were the reservations are written in and just blamed the person that took the booking in the first place. Her attitude was I couldn't care less. At this point I was boiling as I have used the Cinnamon Tree for many years and have always had a good meal there. But after this episode they can go to hell I will never go there again."
