"we still haven't stopped talking how amazing our meal was at casse croute and I don't think we'll stop for one thing! we spent a lot of time to decide which restaurants during our 3 days break in london to eat and. our thema was quite consistent. we wanted small, independent restaurants that offered something different and from the 3 restaurants we chose was casse croute by far the most authentic. it's a tiny restaurant on a street corner in bermondsey, blink and you could really miss it! go in and it's all checked tablecloths and caffeine of wein! from the minute we had set ourselves, we felt as if we were just as easy in the back of montmartre as in South London! the menu is over easy (when written in French) with only 3 options for each of starters, pornstars and desserts and a certain feeling when it is gone, it is away the waiters were more than happy to explain the different meal times and was pleased to hear my asking about a strange allergy (tomats) and even to change a sose so that I could have my desired main course. casse croute is an absolute gem of a restaurant that I would see next time in london! a word of advice, make sure that they book because it is a small restaurant and we saw some hopeful dunes turned out on spectacular!"

This place shows you that you do not need masses of choice on your menu._Couple of choices for each course along with a sensibly priced but short wine list

A superb french bistro on Bermondsey Street which delivers fantastic food from a small but very well balanced menu. Recognisable french classics delivered with panache. Very easy to settle in to this cosy, friendly place and just enjoy the ambience, great wine and great cooking.

eating was amazing, but the mood was not welcome. I am glad that it had a chance to experience this level of cooking, but would not go back with children. ours are not young and will try everything, but it was difficult to find something. for them and the restaurant did not help us with it.

Went yesterday in a group of 8. and had yet another fantastic afternoon. Three starters,Three mail and three desserts plus specials which means what the serve is going to be excellent and it always is. Amazing service by front of house. A little bit of...France in South London. We love it. 100% GO

I went with some friends, one of whom often goes and told us that it was a great restaurant. he was right! the board will only have three starters and three nets that change all the time. we all loved our dishes. the quad en croute. was perfectly cooked with great aromen. the hamhock terrine was only classical French. dessert to die; by some excellent weine from their short list (they will be 500cl carafes) and a armagnac depending on. that armagnac was sensational in 1986. try to get in; the quality of the offer is exceptional.

First it took 20 mins to get our orders taken, no veg options to speak of, in the end my gust had mash potato and beans, i ordered boar, which was rock hard, as was my starter the stuffed courgette .. then to cap it...all, i had ice cream, and was given half melted single scoop of vanilla costing £2.50, the picbal wine was not chilled, we needed ice. absolutely not what I expected from this so called Michelin restaurant. I wont be returning for sure, despite living just down the road. service was polite mainly, but once the bill came, it was kicking out time, despite the delay in taking an order.
