"Booked this venue for my wife 's surprise 40th birthday and had full use of the outside 'Cow Shed ' area and i must say how fantastic it was to have such a lovely outside covered space for all our friends and family! From booking the Chine Arms with Rachel and Chris to the fantastic service by all the bar staff who where so helpful all the way through, especially Lauren who always ensured that we had everything and where happy to the great food that was brought out for the buffet. We couldn 't fault anything at all to be honest and it was a great hit with all that came to celebrate! Many who would want to use this space for there upcoming parties too! There was never a sense of being rushed at any point, the tables where being cleared in the same manor as if we where dinning in the restaurant area. We will be back!"

Really nice family friendly pub with a good atmosphere and stuff for the kids to do. Good wine list and some nice beers. View menu

The only reason why I can't give my local pub 5 stars is because it is so expensive. I love the food, the beer and the atmosphere but it doesn't offer value...

Been there a few times, a bit pricey for my liking so even though I live 5 min walk away I tend to go elsewhere. POV Your paying London prices in an estate pub.

This restaurant is now really struggling to find good staff, with only two decent employees remaining. The others have all had to leave, and the remaining staff are just outright rude. It's no wonder this pub is never full, as it's such a shame. View menu

Another good employee has left because of the poor management at this restaurant. This is starting to become a common occurrence. When will the brewery intervene and make the necessary changes to make this pub popular again and increase its profits? It is a shame to see things continue in this way.

My recent visit to Chineham Arms was a pleasant experience. We were greeted warmly by Hannah and Sophie and found the pub to have a cozy and charming atmosphere, which was a pleasant surprise compared to some negative reviews I had read. The outdoor area had a quirky and festive feel, reminiscent of a Bavarian beer garden. Although we had already eaten, we were impressed by the delicious proseccos and mulled wine. The menu was so tempting that we couldn't resist trying the lamb kofte and squid dishes. Both were exceptional, with the lamb kofte served with potato salad and pita bread standing out as a culinary delight. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable dining experience at Chineham Arms.

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
