"Went on Friday 11 Jan. Made booking beforehand for 6pm. Whilst making booking was asked how long I wanted table for! This is not good customer service. My booking was for 2 people and apparently table was booked again for 7.30. Obviously you can take as long as it takes to be served! As it turned out we were served reasonably quickly with starter. Main course arrived maybe 5 minutes sooner than I would have preferred however dessert took 25 mins to arrive! As it was by now approaching 7.15 we were a trifle concerned. However, due to the wait my husband asked for another beer and at that point we were told they needed the table! We then explained we had been waiting for dessert for 25 mins and received an apology. Like others I would say the food is reasonable, drinks are expensive and it was too crowded for comfort. I will try it once more at a later point in the evening and see if that is better. Such a shame as Burnside is crying out for somewhere decent to have meal. Ciao Bella take note about customer service!"

Overpriced. City centre prices but not same standard. Food is ok but run of the mill pasta and meats. If you're not local find somewhere closer

Lovely food, good service and really nice atmosphere/decor. It's one of few restaurants in the area but you feel like you are in a sophisticated city centre place. Only thing is that it's a little expensive.

Very sorry for this review buy having been there last month we had to send 4 dishes back between 6 of this (most the mussels). The manager did not give a toss, portions were small. I got the italian sausage and it was £5 and i finished it in less than 1 minute !! Beer expensive, wine expensive, food expensive. Must do more

Very mediocre italian restaurant, service wasn't great and food wasn't great. Any italian restaurant that can screw up a basic caprese salad, doesn't give high expectations to cuisine on offer, which sadly proved right in our case. Our coats were not taken on arrival on a wet and windy night. Music was loud which made conversation difficult at times.

Attended the opening night of the new restaurant in Burnside. Run by the son of the nearby Dello's, Ciao Bella offers an extensive Italian menu of high quality with friendly service. Opened with little fanfare, the restaurant has been busy and is a superb addition to the south side and worth travelling to. Additions to the menu promised will only enhance.

This is the closest restaurant to me in Burnside and it's a cracker. Been here multiple times and always enjoyed it, Great that I can stroll home after a few drinks with my meal. The food is always of good quality with some great specials. They offer an excellent pre-theatre only deducting one star because the drinks are a bit pricey. It has been a fantastic addition to Burnside and seems to be doing very well.

Went here tonight as we're big fans of Dellos Chippy run by same owners and we weren't disappointed. Excellent food, service and star spotting...in Burnside! Lol (Kenny Miller). I read reviews beforehand and I think they must have taken note as the service was excellent, I was very impressed at how efficient they were at clearing empty glasses/bottles. Top notch, can't fault it! Bit on pricey side but worth it. Ps, try the Innis Gunn beer!! Lovely

This is my 3rd time at ciao bellas. Everyone i knew raved about it but on my initial visit i wasn't overly wowed by the food. I went back again for a birthday dinner and found their food to be exceptional and once more last week for a late dinner. The food is lovely! I would definitely recommend the prawns to start and spicy sausage pasta. The cocktails are amazing too. The service was great, the waiters are chatty and they're all Italian which adds to your experience. The interior is gorgeous. Full of old Italian black and white photos. Its pretty small but its very cosy. Its great for large parties or a romantic evening. I really cant fault the place. It is pricey but its worth it.

I found the Restaurant very cramped, had to stand like sardines at the door, while our booked table was made ready. We sat for a long while before we were asked for drinks. The starters were very average, and certainly not worth the 5, 6, prices. the mains again were average, my tagliatelli carbonara was no better than a ready meal, and my friends thought the same. pastas were around the 10 mark. The tirimasu was small, and totally lacking flavour, the cheesecake was better, but 5/6 again !! When we asked for our coats, we were greeted with what are they like? , so amateurish, and I heard the same question asked again, to another table. The del Velecchios have been running a very good chip s...
