"I reserved the Bistro for my 60th Birthday dinner with a party of 24. We chose the 2 course Celebration menu, which was a fixed price and perfect for our group. The food was outstanding on the night, the service was exceptional, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I believe the restaurant may have gained some new customers from our experience. They even took care of cutting and packaging my birthday cake since we were all too full to eat anymore. My birthday celebration at the Bistro was everything I had hoped for!"

"The service was excellent, but we waited for 40 minutes without realizing it. The delivery driver claimed he knocked on the door, but he didn't. Our two dogs were going crazy! However, the food was returned and it was delicious. Thank you for the prompt second delivery. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is amazing and the prices are very reasonable."

"Called in here completely by chance on our way back to England from Scotland for some lunch and so glad we did. The staff were super friendly and attentive and service is quick. The menu is extremely extensive, featuring both traditional and more alternative and interesting dishes. There really is a dish for every palate. We were spoilt for choice! I had the steak pie and the wife had twice cooked pork belly, and both were divine. We left extremely full and satisfied. The quality of the food is exquisite, proper home cooked, the portions are a good size and the prices and very reasonable the perfect recipe for a successful food business. Well done to the owners and don’t change a thing! I cannot recommend the Crown Inn highly enough."

"Don’t know what’s happened to Zucca but it’s not the restaurant it used to be. Sat next to the bar where the waitress was clattering everything about, doesn’t make for a relaxing evening. When you charge £34 for a fillet steak you would expect it to be top notch but instead it was chewy and not a good cut of beef. Truffle and Parmesan fries had to ask for Parmesan to sprinkle over them!! Arrabbiata was passable but have had better elsewhere. Deserts cheesecake, couldn’t get the spoon through the base, described as vanilla and honeycomb flavour but tasteless, really poor. Pineapple carpaccio with the panna cotta should be thin not chunks, think they desperately need a pastry chef. Staff disengaged! Overpriced mediocrity!"

"I have been going to tinto tapas in uddingston for the last 4 years. I go with my friend every time I come over to Scotland . It is usually very good but I noticed a marked decline when I went for lunch last week . It was hit and miss . The Caesar salad was bland . The calamari was a soggy congealed mess. the patatas bravas were dreadful, they were dry and tasteless with an underwhelming spicy mayo dip . They were obviously mass produced and not manufactured in-house. The place really needs a deep clean . Windows were dirty and the radiator near the front window was filthy and splattered with god knows what . The menus were dirty , covered with finger marks . The staff and service however was great and we really enjoyed the pate and the aubergine fritters . Standards have slipped and they need to pull their socks up . I won’t be returning until things improve"

"First time experiencing this restaurant but have passed it many times. We thought we would experience the steak dinner deal. The food was nicely presented and cooked well although there could have been more salad). We shared and thoroughly enjoyed the Ginger Pudding. The service was perfect and the atmosphere itself, warm and welcoming. We will return and therefore, recommend. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Sticky Ginger Pudding"

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendy and the food wonderful. Hold on to that chef's hes the best"

"I went to this restaurant for lunch at 12 noon on a Friday and found only a few tables filled. We were welcomed by a waitress at the cash register who told us to sit at a table at the back, even though it had a reserved sign on it. We placed our order with a waitress who did not write anything down. After waiting for 30 minutes, we asked another waitress how long our food would take, and she replied rudely that our order had only just been placed, even though it had been 30 minutes. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we were informed that there was only one chef working. When our food finally arrived, one of the tuna sandwiches had onions on it, even though we had specified one with onions and one without. We overheard the waitress complaining about us to another staff member and discussing us while looking in our direction. When my daughter complained to the manager about the service, the manager insensitively commented that it made them feel bad that we had asked about the food's preparation time. The tuna sandwich was priced at £9 and did not meet our expectations, as it was lacking in ingredients and poorly prepared. We were not charged for the uneaten sandwich. Overall, I had a terrible experience and will not be returning to this restaurant. If you enjoy being overcharged and spoken to aggressively, then this is the place for you."
"The overall experience at this restaurant was fantastic until we reached the dessert course. After being asked if we wanted dessert and given menus, the staff seemed to ignore us as they walked back and forth to the kitchen. The same waitress who initially asked us about dessert walked past us multiple times without acknowledging us. Eventually, we had to ask a different waiter for the bill, paid, and left. The food was delicious, but some staff members appeared disinterested as the evening quieted down. I would consider returning in the future, but not anytime soon."

"What a fabulous restaurant! The menu was comprehensive, the food was delicious, the service fantastic and the price exceptionally reasonable. We had birthday lunch with my father for his 80th birthday. We ate from the fixed-price lunch menu £20 for two courses, £25 for three) and all four of us cleared our plates of all three courses. It was absolutely delicious, faultlessly cooked from quality ingredients and beautifully presented. The staff could not do enough for us. They made a fuss of my father, printed out a special menu wishing him a happy birthday, and gladly took our cake and produced it with our coffee. It was much appreciated. The toilets were absolutely spotless. We intend to return soon and we very much look forward to it."

"Glad to have chosen Il Capriccio for the first restaurant to visit post-lockdown. Called ahead to book a slot to visit due to current distancing measures in place. Continues to serve exceptional pizza and pasta with friendly service. Restaurant is a small space but is able to social distance due to layout of tables. This results in a relaxed atmosphere. Look forward to returning soon."

"I was excited to attend this restaurant for my partner's birthday due to good reviews. However, the service was extremely poor. We were only given 1 drink at the start of the meal and no offer was made for further drinks. One main meal never arrived after approximately 45 minutes, and when I asked about it, I was told the kitchen was busy and they only have 2 hands. We had to wait for another half hour for someone to take payment, only to be told that we pay on the way out and not at the table - this was not explained to us beforehand. Overall, the whole experience was disappointing and ruined what should have been a good night. We are big sushi fans, but we will not be returning to this restaurant."

"Hidden off the main road, Scottish Home Baking Awards winner 2013/ 2014, with impressive coverage in local and national papers. The Wallace Tea Rooms is large and spacious with disabled access and toilets with baby changing facilities, as well as the all important high chairs. A separate family room and additional drawing packs for children make for a more peaceful meal with young children. The cakes are unique and all baked on site, we simply had to get some to take home. The food was gorgeous and the staff were very personable and attentive. I will definitely return."

"Always a popular spot. Current restrictions have limited sitting in. The hot deli sandwiches are so tasty and highly recommended. We always opt for a mixed salad box to sample the selection as all the salads are great and full of flavour. The pastries look lovely and golden. Great value for money and definitely fast becoming a regular spot when heading to Strathaven. One thing...A better soft drink selection would be great. We get the whole artisan approach...but tbh the majority are blah or yuk! Can we just have a full fat coke please.... and from the only people really justified to call it that!? I'd rather spend all my money here than buy my lunch and then head to the co-op for a decent drink. Thanks."

"visited this bakery during the journey through carnwath on my way to dunsyre. in the inner it looked like an old school bakery with ovens and other bakers. it was even freshly baked from the many, so that is a good sign. since I was only on the way to little sparta, I only ordered a tee and apple turnover as a snack. one of the best Apple sales I had in one. fresh cream, brownish pebbles, hard to complain. they even have sugar alternatives for my tee. the employees are also welcoming and friendly here as they would expect in a small city. the only part is that they do not accept cards, but only cash."
"Firstly, let’s say I was disappointed to be called two hours before our table booking to be told the usual menu of the day £20 for 3 courses was not going to be available and only festive menu. I had specifically booked to avoid festive menus, and now no choice , and an extra £25 cost added for our family of 5 £25 each for 3 courses . Restaurant was busy, seated for 10 minutes before drinks order taken, and no one offered to hang up jackets…although they did for the table of ten who arrived behind us. Hmmm. Menu was OK nice choice, but my wife and son had to send back the “breaded mushrooms with brie and mozzarella” starters as they were in fact dry and without any cheese. Replacement alternate starters OK. My main course salmon was lovely but my other son complained his burger with cheese and cranberry had so much cranberry it was bitter tasting. Desserts were nothing special and caramel cake base was lumpy crushed digestives. Overall the meal was mediocre at best and can’t say I’ll be back in a hurry. £188 for Saturday lunch for 5 was not great value including two bottles of wine ."

"First time visiting with family and loved the experience. We sat in the corner and told my young son that the black lady ghost would visit him if he didn't eat all his dinner! He never left anything! Brilliant! The atmosphere was lovely a really pretty building, the staff were lovely and polite and service was quick. The food for all concerned was delicious and arrived piping hot. It was so good I only managed pictures of the starter! Would thoroughly recommend. Covid restrictions in place are masks whilst moving about and staff are disinfecting surfaces between customers. There is a small carpark to the rear, we parked at the bottom of the hill and walked it up so gives us a little work out."

"I was fortunate enough to be given a voucher to visit this restaurant. I can honestly say I wasn’t disappointed. Despite being an almost local restaurant, I had never visited before this visit. On entering I was pleasantly surprised by the layout of the restaurant....It’s not the biggest of places, but I suspect it can handle around customers, over a mix of seat booths and person tables. The decor is simple and adds to the atmosphere of the premises. We were met at the entrance by the waitress on duty, she was immediately very friendly, took our details and temperature’s. We were then led to one of the booths which are very good for couples. The menu has a mix of meat dishes, pasta dishes and fish dishes, plus starters. The selection of choices is of perfect size. The waitress (I am sorry not to remember her name) also talked through the specials available. I don’t want to go to deeply into what we ordered, but I can highly recommend the lobster ravioli . Our entire order of starters, mains and desserts were wonderful, my partner recommends the chefs own made tiramisu. There is also a really nice wine menu available. Stefanos is definitely well worth a visit, and we will definitely be returning. My thanks to Stef, chef and owner, who made us a wonderful meal and also took the time to leave the kitchen to come over and speak with us. And also many thanks to our waitress who was simply wonderful."

"I have been dining at Carrigans for years with my family. Last night, I went with my partner and we were seated at a table for two next to a wall. My partner asked the server if we could move and she pointed to another table, saying we could have it for only one hour. Despite the fact that no one sat at that table for the entire hour we were there, we declined as we knew we wouldn't finish our meal in one hour. We then asked for another table and were told we could have it for 1.5 hours. However, the server's tone and attitude were very poor. I do not pay for a meal to sit next to a wall. My partner ordered a Tex Mex burger which was disgusting, indicating a decline in the quality of the food."
