"This cafe looks quite appealing, but unfortunately the food options are extremely limited and uninspiring. I visited with a friend and we shared two sandwiches, which were just ok, although the “cheddar and red onion marmalade “ one seemed to be cheddar and cranberry sauce! The mistake we made was also ordering the flatbread with sun dried tomato houmous, which took an age to arrive, so long that we actually went and asked where it was after such a long time. When it arrived it was half a plate of what looked like pinkish baby sick and a cold, anaemic looking flatbread on the other side, no salad garnish, no appearance of a sun dried tomato. It tasted revolting as well, and the texture was of slop. The staff act like they couldn’t care less about anything. We won’t be revisiting this cafe again, we will go elsewhere."

The staff at this restaurant, including manager 'Emma', were extremely impolite. I would not recommend this place and do not plan on coming back.

After a walk around Sheffield Park we went into the Coach House Tea Rooms for some drinks and a snack. A limited Choice Both of which were Okay, but nothing more and a little overpriced but it served our purpose

We were ready for a hot meal and it was served within a short time. As a vegetarian I had less choice but the macaroni cheese was tasty. My husband enjoyed his Cumberland sausage. We had a choice of chips or potatoes.

Coffee and drinking chocolate were fine, cake was good. The problem was the service two young servers, looked like they didn’t want to be there, no eye contact, little contact of any kind, no thank yous. No COVID precautions in this cafe either.

It was wonderful to be able to enjoy a hot cup of coffee followed by a delicious bowl of soup for lunch on a cold day. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and adhered to Covid safety measures. The staff were friendly and there was a beautiful Christmas tree on display.

Had lunch here after getting off the Bluebell line and before going into the National Trust Sheffield Park and Gardens. A good menu with lots of choices hot or cold and more than ample seating inside and out. Not too expensive either and next to a shop selling preloved books and music and other bric-à-brac. Nice place with nice staff.

Went for a coffee before we had a walk round Sheffield Park and then went back for lunch. The coffee and lunch were up to the usual good National Trust standard, although the service could have been a bit quicker. This is one National Trust restaurant that allows dogs inside as there is a separate Garden Room at the back of the main restaurant.

The Coach house tea rooms at Sheffield Park originally built by the 3rd Lord Sheffield as coach house and stable block . Probably one of the best National Trust tea rooms I've been in and just the job for a nice latte after a walk around the gardens. Winston Churchill used to pop in for tea and to check on his beloved black swans . For a National trust cafe the prices aren't bad either.

The coleslaw was disappointing, with an extra charge of £2 for two unwashed lettuce leaves and a mixture of hard carrots and red cabbage. The £4 sausage roll was small and lacked flavor. The toasted sandwiches were hard and difficult to eat. It's a shame because this place has the potential to be a lovely tea room, but the food quality is lacking. The staff were friendly, but the dining room was a bit dusty.

"Honestly...one of the best pub restaurants I have ever visited! We chose to eat here as it was recommended via Alistair Sawday, and it did not disappoint. The food, atmosphere, hygiene and service were all 5* when we visited last night. We sat inside, by candlelight, and ordered 2 starters (the Rye smoked mackerel with buttercream sauce and the heritage tomato salad and 2 mains (the beef burger with fries and the hake with toasted ciabatta and garden peas . It was truly exquisite! We both cleaned our plates (and we don't usually do that! . My only mild criticism is that I didn't realise the hake dish would include bacon lardons they certainly added to the flavour, but as an ethical pescatarian, this could have ruined the meal for me (I didn't allow it to, but 10 years ago when I was more strict it may have upset me . I may have simply missed this ingredient when reading the menu, and I didn't make the waiting staff aware of my dietary preferences, so I accept this was my fault and not theirs. It's just something for other pescatarians reading this review to be aware of. I have absolute confidence that they would prepare the hake dish without the bacon lardons if you asked. As for me....my boyfriend gleefully took them from my plate and demolished them himself! We also enjoyed a medium glass of wine each my boyfriend (who is very particular loved the tempranillo and I had their Italian pinot grigio. Our entire meal would have been less than £60, but with the current government incentive scheme to eat in, it came to less than £40!! We tipped generously as they truly deserved it. We will 100% be returning and can't advocate them enough."
