"would really recommend this place. my partner and I were here for a few nights back in august 2021 and we absolutely loved it. the place is absolutely beautiful. the rooms were simple, but we were more than happy with it, because we only spent time there when we were sleeping and ready. the rooms had basic conveniences like a wardrobe, a complete mirror that is very handy, tea and coffee accessories, shower and dressed. I couldn't make it for the price we paid. we had dinner in the restaurant before place one of the nights that was beautiful. we didn't have to book and the food was so nice. it was so romantic and we could even buy some drinks to come back to the room with us. the location is perfect because it is not far from brixham where we were in the position to get a boat torquay so that we can see so many places in a short time. the personal was so kind and attentive, what is nice to see when they go on vacation because they gave us a really nice greeting. the gardens were absolutely beautiful, there was so much to see, I think we spent an hour or so around the place for which we did not have to pay extra. around the building there were so many different things like wood carving or ceramic or even the national park running around, so there is so much to do. we will come back soon because we loved it absolutely. many thanks for a brilliant stay"

Wish I’d read the reviews about car parking before I went! Bought a ticket through Travelzoo who said there was 3 hours free parking! Wrong!

This place is a strange affair. Once you learn about it’s history and how thing’s are run it’s got the feel of a cult about it.Don’t get me wrong it’s a lovely place to have a walk around and all that, but it is quite expensive too so be careful.

Don't bother. Over stayed my parking time by 20 minutes to help an elderly man dismantle his wife's mobility scooter. Received a parking fine. Wrote to the company to explain, but received a standard reply. Pay up. Needless I won't be going there again.

Had a great day at dartington with the family, a week later we had a parking fine, I'd stupidly forgot to change the reg on my new car with the ringo app, even though we had purchased a ticket on the app it didn't count we still received a £30 pound fine

In an effort to minimise the time spent in the morose, gloomy hostel I sought refuge in the coffee shop. I was the only customer. After wondering what on earth was taking so long for my coffee to arrive, I discovered it had been sat on the counter for me to collect and was now cold. The girl serving had decided that staring into her phone was a more urgent task than delivering a drink to the only customer in the room. Rooms: 1

Attended a course in the grounds at Dartington. Course was great, grounds were fantastic. Paid £6 for parking and the parking provider Total Parking Solutions i.e. the agent of the trust decided i was to have a fine from 2pm ish even though i had paid for parking from 9am when i arrived in the morning. Trust uninterested, TPS crooks and myself weighing up wether i have the capacity or the money to fight it. Shocker from the site and the crooks they employ to manage their car parks.

Hygiene standards are non existent, rooms were not cleaned to sufficient standard prior to arrival. Shower and bathrooms were not upto standard either, no amenities offered what so ever. The Wifi was described as world class to us but it leaves a lot to be desired which wasn't ideal since my group came there to work.Food was amazing and the surrounding area is beautiful hence the three stars. However, there was one day where we found a slug in our salad. Not much was done to rectify the situation.Overall verdict: slightly too pricey due to accommodation

Absolutely stunning! Honestly blown away by the grounds and breathtaking views. An inner city Londoner and have never been to anywhere like this. Honestly you have to visit here. Good location to reach other towns locally and a 20 minute drive to a beach. We had a superior room in the west wing and was absolutely stunning! Honestly can't fault anything what so ever. The reviews below are disappointing regarding the parking. We had parking from when we arrived and until the check out day which they give until the end of the day, not your check out times. I think if you're just visiting for the day then yes you will have to pay for parking but just like anywhere else you visit with paid parking.
