"now that's what I call innovation. love the concept!!!imagine a pizza not with the typical tomato sauce or white sauce.... but a green sauce (pesto, basil etc) or pumpkin sauce etc.... pizza dough with black octopus ink or made with Dinkelmehl).if you're adventurous enough go for the chef's surprise version. it's worth the experience. you may not always get what you want, but it's part of the game and the experience. we both ordered the surprise version and though I prefered my husbands pizza mine was delicious too! creative, fresh ingredients and very generous toppings I found! Pizzas are huge, served on a wooden board and if you can't finish (and believe me you won't! !!) you can take it home in a pizza box! ah yes, and don't forget to order the antipasti plate to share! delicious! very friendly service, even though they seemed to be under staffed the day we were there. weekends gets very busy. better to book.some say it's overpriced here. sure you can find cheaper places but you won't have the same experience I think. unique concept!"

Place is nice, well laid out and run very well. It's pizza, and it cost 16+ euro. The beer was 5 euro. Sorry to say, but there are better options out there.

The best pizza and vegan pizza money can buy. Be adventureous and order the formular to get your surprise pizza, baked only with things you like. If you want pizza, go there.

First of all very, very tasty!!! And very creative! Different type of dough, base sauces and creative ingredients make it fabulous! Very hip interior and surrounding. A bit more expensive than other pizza places but still OK and definitely worth it! View menu

We had group dinner here - it is a trendy, hip place, with young and competent staff. Specialties are creative pizzas - topping combos I would have never thought possible but they were really good. A nice selection of artisan beers and cocktails, as well as a relaxed atmosphere, adds to my positive review.

I ordered the surprise pizza with the avocado while base and it was excellent. The atmosphere is fine and the allegations that it's a hipster haven are over blown. I live in hipster central and this doesn't compare to that level of angst. A pleasant surprise. A bit hard to find so make sure you pull into the driveway and discover the very large interior courtyard.

I loved our trip to Das Mehl! We all ordered surprise pizzas, and upon being skeptical at first, were all pleasantly surprised with delicious, out-of-the-ordinary pizzas! I would have never expected a pizza with carrots and beef and various other things could be as tasty as it was!The only complaint I have is that everything took AGES. We didn't even get our coffee because it took so long to come. Other than that though, it was a great experience! View menu

Das Mehl is located far from the center and is a bit hard to find, but it's definitely worth the trip. The design of the place is trendy and welcoming, the portions are big and the pizza (if you would call it pizza, I'd say it's more flammkuchen) is very good. They have very unusual combinations, such as beetroot, goat cheese and honey or a falafel topping. The menu has meaty as well as veggie options and you can also create your own pizza. Prices are.. high. 17-20 euros for a pizza. Staff was very friendly. A nice experience overall.

We hadn't reserved a table in advance and even though we arrived there shortly after opening all tables were full. It was saturday evening, so probably not unexpected. If you want to be safe, reserve a table in advance! We got a spot at the bar which was quite lucky because our waiter was excellent. He made superb coffee, great cocktails and gave us some advice where to go out that night. The home-made lemonade is a must! Oh and the pizza is very tasty and extraordinary, too. We had a very fine evening, wasn't that cheap, though. Would visit again!

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
