"Pleasant experience this evening at this restaurant. Had the poppadoms and pickle tray for starters. They were ok. Very thin easily broken in comparison to others weve had. May sound fickle but I rate the quality of poppadoms as iv noticed this identifies the quality of the main meal. Prawn biriyani was ok with plenty of rice with a traditional omelette which was nice to see. The Karahi sauce which I regularly have with biriyani was full of onions. It was ok. Just ok. It was cooked quickly as they forgot the sauce with the meal. Not sure of the taste of the Karahi sauce as it normally has a very distinct flavour. This did not. Had zero alcohol in bottles which were opened before they got to the table, which I don't particularly like. Like to see the waiter at the table with a bottle opener. I eat in many restaurants serving indian food so I am always quite critical of standards. I like this place though as it has plenty of variety and choice on the menu. Will be going back again another time but will certainly be trying the Afghan dishes next time on the menu. Friendly service from staff, but when looking for a table for two, dont like being sat next to a table of six. Maybe couples could be sat somewhere away from groups and people watching videos on their phones. Enjoy!!!! Parking: Limited parking but less than two minutes away is an open car park free to use. Very easily accessible and always plenty of room to park."

The parking situation is quite limited, with only enough space on the street for 4 or 5 vehicles. As for the service, I dined in for dinner, and the price per person was around £30 to £40. Here’s my breakdown: Food was excellent, earning a score of 5, while service and atmosphere both scored 4. View menu

Food was nice and flavourful, only giving 1 star because the bill was incorrect by £30! also whilst paying, the card reader was placed so that I didn't see the amount entered, fortunately I picked this up and the amount was correctly changed. A little miffed to say the least. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

The service has really declined! We visited this restaurant on a weeknight for a family birthday, and it felt like we were a burden to our waiter just for being there. He wasn’t friendly at all, and some of us felt quite uncomfortable due to his bluntness. On a positive note, the food was excellent, but we were disappointed that it took over an hour for our main courses to arrive. Having dined here many times before, we felt let down by the service this time. Additionally, the “rules” displayed on the table seemed very odd; I’ve eaten at numerous restaurants around the world and have never encountered a list of rules to follow while dining.

"As a child, my family used to travel up and down the length of England using North Western Coaches, stopping at various cities and cafeterias en route. I have the fondest memories of good cafes, good food, good service, and a sense of fulfilment, having visited the usual venues. Manchester Road Cafe is a very smart, clean, and healthy reminder of that kind of nostalgia, and when you go inside, there are plenty of tables and chairs that are comfortable, well laid out, clean and welcoming. When you look at the menu you are given a good selection of choices starting with two types of full English breakfast with either one or two items of each of the main ingredients, together with a range of meal variations/combinations, together with other meals normally associated with later in the day, all at excellent prices. There is a good number of staff members, both in the kitchen and serving/waiting on, which ensures quick, efficient, and very professional service, which minimizes the wait to receive the good quality produce. Everything is freshly made, there are good size portions, and there is flexibility, particularly in the breakfast at the time l was there. If you don't like a particular item, you can swap it for an extra one of the others that you have on your plate. For example, I don't like black puddings, so I had an extra fried egg in its place at no extra charge. Well done, Manchester Road Cafe. I also like a good mug of tea, and that's certainly what you get with your meal, together with 2 rounds of white or brown bread, toasted. There were beans, tomatoes, eggs, bacon, and sausages, which were gorgeous to enhance the eating experience. Full marks, great service, and seems to be doing exceptionally well growing in popularity. A distant family member of mine had a transport cafe for over 50 years, with his brothers and his father, and business is always good throughout the morning and the opening time here of 8 am and finishing time around 2 p.m is perfect both for the establishment and for the times that we are ready to eat. I'm sure you'll enjoy all that you have and have no hesitation in recommending it to you."
