"whenever in Vals go get a table for "Tüfelstein". I won't regret it! You'll find 3 buffets; salad, main course, dessert. The salad buffet has everything you need for a great balanced salad; greens, beets, carrots, zucchini, salmon, mozzarella, tomatoes and lots more, finished off with homemade dressings. The main course (absolute my fav food), so you choose from all the ingredients from the buffet; pasta (or rice after it's been cooked), veggies (ranges from basics like peppers, zucchini, leek to bamboo, chinese mushrooms), pineapple, tofu, to all organic meat and fish choices, finish your plate with one spoon of homemade stock and some flavored sauces like lemon, curry or garlic. You hand over your plate to the chef standing behind the huge hotplate, he/she will prepare your food right infront of your eyes and hand it over to you as soon it's done. Add some delicious sauce to it and enjoy! The dessert buffet will finish off your dinner perfectly, it's all homemade, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, fruits, patisserie and some special things. There's also homemade ice cream ;)! YOU CAN SERVE YOURSELF AS MANY TIMES YOU WANT! For drinks you'll find red wine white wine, soft drinks, tea, coffee and some delicious tapwater - which is spring water ;)"

The service was somewhat slow and unprofessional. The restaurant owner got a lighter from her bra to illuminate the fondue candle. If you stay at the hotel itself, it is convenient to go here for dinner.

So the theme here is you walk around put your food on a plate and they cook it on a large hot steaming metal plate. The problem is it's a mixture of pasta with meat but it doesn't look very appetizing. And at a price of 65 from the person it's over priced for the region. On a positive note the beer is nice and cold.

the food is really amazing, in a way that can be a gourmet stars chef. with good presentation and also great taste in details. I ordered the Fishes Risotto with Lachs, Zender, and green lips muscle, was really a great experience. the breakfast at the hotel is also very recommended, you can cook your own omolates or fried eggs... and the new rooms with new renovation, is really a big WOW!

Every Saturday, the restaurant has a special, which I would like to highly recommend! Besides great buffets for starter and dessert, you have a huge choice of vegetables, meat, sides and sauces, which you put yourself together and let be cooked in front of your eyes - if lucky even directly by the owner who loves to talk with you and tell you stories about the place! And for all of this: as much as you can eat & drink!

"Positiv:Das Ambiente im Restaurant ist sehr schön: gemütlich und geschmackvoll.Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend.Negativ:Die Küche ist überteuert und hält mit den Preisen qualitativ nicht mit.Ganz schlecht war der Service: Darauf, dass Brot und Oliven in Selbstbedienung zu holen waren, wurden wir nicht aufmerksam gemacht. Wir mussten es selber erraten. Die Selbstbedienungstheke für das Brot verstösst frontal gegen die COVID Schutzmassnahmen. Diese scheinen im Restaurant ohnehin kein Thema zu sein: Die Mindestabstände werden kaum eingehalten, das Personal trägt keine Masken, und es herrscht auch sonst gelassene Normalität. Das Essen der einen Tochter (Pizza) wurde prompt serviert, das Essen der restlichen Familie hingegen erst über eine halbe Stunde später, als die Pizza längst aufgegessen war. Die Wartezeit, bis wir gefragt wurden, ob wir ein Dessert möchten, was so lang, dass uns inzwischen der Appetit auf eine Nachspeise vergangen war. Auch das Bezahlen entwickelte sich zu einer zähen Geduldsprobe. Für die grobe Panne beim Servieren der Hauptspeisen hat man sich zwar entschuldigt, doch wären deswegen keineswegs etwa die beiden Kaffees offeriert worden. Im Gegenteil wurde bei unseren Kaffees sogar das Bisquit vergessen, welches man sonst zum Kaffee erhält.Konsequenz für uns ist ganz klar, dass man uns im La Cucina sicher nie mehr sehen wird.Nach unserem unübertrefflichen Hochgenuss im Rest. Ganni in Leis ob Vals am Vorabend, wo alles gestimmt hat, war das heute ein herber Absturz."
