Dog House Kitchen - Menu

We visited on Friday night for the third time with friends who had missed out on a previous occasion. They had both recently had a birthday so we thought it would be nice to combine their first trip with birthday celebrations.

Had an amazing evening for the 3rd birthday running. Liz and Chris and their brilliant team made the whole experience a memorable one. The food was excellent, the surroundings, beautiful and the atmosphere welcoming thanks to all and see you again soon!

A rather unique setting with very friendly and accommodating hosts. Enjoyed a private party there so was surrounded by 24 friends which I guess makes it slightly different to normal. Food was nice and we were well looked after. Definitely try again on a normal night.

Liz and Chris hosted a super 50th birthday celebration , the food was excellent accommodating all our guests food requirements. All in all a great night to remember , we were particularly partial to the Cherry Bakewell cocktails, and special mention for the Braised Ox Cheek dish ! Thanks so much we will be back .

We have just visited The Dog House Kitchen for the second time and will definitely be returning again!Absolutely delicious starters and a main course of Chicken with bacon poached in cider was beautiful, lots of flavour and presentation as always was lovely. We had the pleasure of attending a Dog House Kitchen evening a couple of weeks ago. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. Liz and Chris were incredible hosts and made our evening a very enjoyable one! Our food was amazing from beginning to end and will be returning in the near future. Also the choice of flavoured gins are outstanding. Thankyou Liz and Chris for a great evening!

We’ve eaten at most of the restaurants around and thought we’d give this place a try. We were very pleasantly surprised! The setup is a bit strange, only opens every now and again, cash only, order in advance from preset menu, everyone eats at the same time, but everything worked out just fine. The food was excellent. Good choice of wines and reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful couldn’t ask for more. We had to leave before the end of the session so we missed the coffee and chats! Definitely give at try allow 3 hours for the full experience!

I have just been to the Dog House Kitchen for the first time and I cannot rave about it enough. The hospitality is second to none with every detail thought of and a constant top up of wine! Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. I am gluten free and loved that for once my food was the same quality as everyone else’s. The food was beautifully cooked, generous portions, with wonderful flavours put together. The setting is really pretty, and the hosts have managed to create a warm and homely atmosphere. The place is perfect for a special occasion or private function. I will definitely be going back. What a wonderful find!

We had been really looking forward to experiencing this establishment, based upon the glowing reviews. Sadly, we were left disappointed and surprised with the service that we received.The setting was pleasant and overall, the food was presented very well albeit the quite minimal portion sizes. The starters and puddings were fine. However, my partner’s main course, a chicken dish, was undercooked and the meal was taken away promptly for recooking. It was returned to us with some extra vegetables but there was little improvement with the cooking of the meat, resulting in my partner having to abandon eating the chicken.
