"Arrived here hungry and expectant as had heard good opinions of this inn. Sadly, I was disappointed. Having ordered our food and drinks from welcoming and friendly staff, we sat back and waited. After a reasonable interval our food was served but unfortunately my plate was cold and the beef stroganoff was lukewarm. The other 2 dishes were quite hot so we had no issue with those. I reported my meal to the waitress who apologised and promptly offered me to choose a replacement meal, but since we had an onward journey to make this was not an option. I agreed to my meal being warmed up in the microwave but when it was returned me, the first bite was piping hot and the rest of my meal was just warm, while the plate was still cold. I informed a member of staff about this when asked at the end of our stay and they immediately told us that my course would be deleted from our bill. Although the staff dealt with the issue once notified, I would rather have enjoyed a piping hot, tasty meal and am debating whether I will return again"

*edit 2023* now under new management, so comments no longer show exactly menu which dishes can be adjusted for gluten-free. Many choices and weekend specials. Can be busy so recommended to reserve.
