"Had a private room upstairs, the Library, for an 18th birthday celebration with family and friends. The venue is lovely, everyone's food was good, reasonable portions and tasty. The staff who looked after us were nice too, chatty and pleasant. The bill was little overpriced. The landlady was awful though, unfortunately this is what will stick in our minds as the experience of that day. Just no way this woman should be in a customer facing job let alone be a publican."

"Came for the first time for a family meal and was impressed, although all staff I saw was young they was all polite and in good spirits which is refreshing and very nice to see as in most places look like they can’t be bothered to be there. Food was lovely although burgers abit dry. Was slightly on the expensive side but for a treat we didn’t mind as food was nice and service spot on. However, I did have a couple of gins which I asked for no ice and both times came with ice but we was a big table and staff did seem busy so didn’t mention it. Would recommend!"

"Been here twice now and had a fantastic experience both times. First time my large cooked breakfast came really well presented and great value for money. Second time took my 5 year old (which I was dreading) however the waitress was excellent, bringing over crayons and a picture to colour to keep him entertained. Made a huge effort asking him what santa was bringing. My chocolate Sacher cake and homemade Rocky Road was to die for. So many little details making the place stand out. Can't praise the Christopher's enough for bringing another brilliant local business to Bolsover. xxx"

"You can't go wrong if you're looking for typical pub grub. The staff is very friendly, and it's conveniently located right next to the M1. I've been there a few times, and the carvery (when it's available) is excellent. I hope it returns during the week as we all get back to something resembling normality."

"We’d been on a walking trip and decided to book into the young vanish on our way home ,we arrived at our booking time and no one was available to show us to our booking table we flagged down a staff member who got the person allocating tables, we then decided to book through their app and completed order and payment we were sat ten minutes received drinks and carvery ticket,my daughter ordered a pizza, I ordered a carvery but decided to wait for her pizza to come,30 minutes in I said I’d get my carvery as her meal couldn’t be much longer,went to the carvery and waited with another customer in front for ten minutes with nobody to serve us,the person in charge was behind the pizza station and saw we were waiting,two members of staff chef uniform came out of kitchen walked straight past us and numerous waiting staff as well,the customer in front said how poor the service and I agreed,eventually the the person in charge told waiting staff to tell kitchen staff to come and serve,eventually I got my meal and went back to table and my daughters meal still hadn’t come, I flagged down a waitress and told her the order wasn’t complete,she then sent the person in charge who said they hadn’t received a ticket for her order and told her to order again and pay again ,my daughter showed him the app receipt and he said he’d go and make it ,waited a total Of 1.hr and 10 minutes for a pizza and carvery,we’ve been numerous times over the years but sadly won’t be going again!!"
