"El Cruce is a good quality Spanish restaurant in a small village, getting probably few non Spanish visitors, which is a shame as good food is here to be had. One of the 7 Almoradi, Gastronomic Route Restaurants. Firstly a drink at their very pleasant bar, where we caught sight of Grandma fussing around in the kitchen, it looked like we were in for a culinary treat ! After the drink we were seated and offered Spanish and English menus. Very good choice for all courses, with some local delicacies offered. The ox tail in filo pastry looked a little lonely and could have done with a brother, however it was delicious The house salad I am afraid to say was ordinary, but a good accompaniment to the starters. The main courses were 3 good choices all cooked to perfection and presented exquisitely. Our hostess was friendly and welcoming, smiling patiently at our Spanglaise !! My Fillet steak was perfectly cooked as requested and full of flavour. Our dessert choices were the chocolate bomb, oozing with chocolate and the almond cake, also bursting with taste. A most excellent meal, from a restaurant that will go on our list for re-visits. Recommended."

We are working our way along the Almoradi `route gastronomica' and our second restaurant was El Cruce. The venue looks very attractive from outside, in a modern traditional Spanish way. Inside lots of pictures on the walls, flowers and crisp white table cloths. We were seated the smallest of 3 rooms, ours with 4 tables, the second about 6 and the 3rd for large gatherings. We were given English translations of the menu and chose, house salad, Iberian Ham and Caramelized ox-tail. They were all quite tasty. For mains we had, rack of lamb, solomilo and duck breast. All came with french fries and small vegetables. Our friend told us, it was the best, most tasty, rack of lamb he had ever eaten. Th...
