"as a group of 6 we were very dissatisfied with our experience in this restaurant, I really do not know why it is rated with number 1 as it failed for us on many flats. there are only 1 waiter and that's why he was stressed,...short and not very friendly, as he was too busy and that was just the beginning. we have booked for 8 o'clock, there was no fish of the day, no lambbone, 4 of our dishes came cold, the kartoffels and veg are calculated as extras. the paella was beautiful like the babysquid starter, but that's where the good food ends up in fear. the restaurant is not really welcoming and the restaurant is not located in a comfortable opposite, no sitting places in the free and for most tables no prospect of anything except a very stressed waiter. I am sorry that this is not a more positive assessment, but I feel that this was very accurate for all people I have dined with this night, the 2 stars are for eating alone"

"Un restaurante muy pequeño y achaparrado, en lo que parece ser una tienda reformada, con una vista (casi un hotel en el camino) fantástica. Que se prepara con estupenda cocina casera alemana. Y uno o dos cafés con bebidas alcohólicas diversas. Detengámonos brevemente en el ambiente del restaurante, es un poco como si los muebles modernos, como los de Ikea, y la singularidad del bar local de al lado se encontraran, todo dominado por un televisor de gran tamaño que reproduce constantemente, a veces muy mal, Fotos de la comida que se puede pedir. Una mezcla salvaje de diferentes estilos. Y lamentablemente te sientas en las preciosas mesas de madera, muy concurridas junto a la mesa de al lado con nuevos invitados. No fue mi caso, por lo que se restaron dos estrellas de la categoría de calificación. El servicio fue excelente. No hay nada de qué quejarse aquí. Y en al menos 3 idiomas, 5 de 5 estrellas. Y ahora llegamos a la última y más importante parte: la comida, tardó mucho en llegar, pero en mi boca estaba deliciosa, por eso muchos restaurantes en Alemania pueden seguir esta página. Y comparado con lo que nos dieron en el hotel (todo incluido), es como si Little Germany tuviera algunas estrellas. La comida que pedimos llegó al mismo tiempo y estaba perfectamente cocinada o medio cruda . Muy sabroso y las porciones eran de un tamaño decente. Los cafés shot eran excelentes y se mezclaban bien, pero no demasiado. Los postres... Aquí me gustaría citar a los clientes ingleses del restaurante: no olvides tu strudel . Standle de manzana casero relativamente grande con helado... ¿Necesito escribir más? Vale, el pastel de lava también estuvo bien. Por supuesto, todo tiene su precio y no es tan barato, pero en mi opinión está completamente bien dada la calidad que se ofrece. Cuesta unos 30-40€ por persona incluyendo bebidas, entrantes y postres."

"Almorzamos en este restaurante, eligiéndolo por su carta de pescado y su ubicación frente al mar. Para los más pequeños existe un menú infantil con diversas alternativas. La materia prima es de excelente calidad y hasta el plato más sencillo se prepara con mimo y atención. Apreciamos especialmente la ensalada de bonito, el pulpo a la parrilla y la pesca del día. Además, si los postres suelen decepcionar un poco al final de la comida, aquí también quedamos satisfechos en este aspecto con la tarta de manzana y la panna cotta. Comparado con muchos otros lugares de la región, este restaurante se presta para satisfacer hasta los paladares más exigentes."

"I've known this hotel/restaurant for over 25 years, in fact since I moved to this area, and have enjoyed many celebratory meals here. Sadly my work schedule seldom allows me to stop off in Calahonda to eat, but a visit by family from the UK provided the excuse to revisit El Ancla, and we weren't disappointed. Our various tastes, from traditionally English to typically Spanish, were all catered for, with a bit of Italian thrown in, and we all ate well too well in fact as most of us we were defeated by the large servings. We ate on the hotel's all weather terrace, with its lively international ambience, but there are other options too from quick pizzas to formal restaurant. The only slight negative was the service got slower as the meal progressed, but that was entirely due to it being a very busy lunchtime service there was hardly a vacant seat, let alone table. I will certainly return."
