"This place was uncomfortable. Crumpets on sale at an extortionate price and not very appealing cakes. Crammed full of shouting male cyclists (Stevenage Cycle Club) who wouldn't sit down and tramped about the place as if they owned it making it seem even smaller than it already was. Very young staff seemed unable to cope, service very slow. Appalling hot chocolate which had a load of dry chocolate clogged at bottom of mug which had never mixed with the milk as no-one had bothered to stir any of it when making it. 3 tiny marshmallows. No teaspoon given for tea either. Not keen to revisit."

Loved the location and had high hopes but was extremely disappointed with the very old dry scones (probably yesterday’s) we received.. I doubt I will return, such a shame.

A beautiful cafe in the countryside, the finest tea and tea cakes and the best service. Thanks to Peter, Tanisha, Katie W and Bo the cat for a pleasant and entertaining visit.

Delightful little tea shop with delicious cake selection and tasty coffee. Very welcoming staff. Indoor and outdoor seating, and even dog friendly indoor seating which was great. Would highly recommend View menu

Stopped for a well earned coffee and flapjack. Friendly welcoming pit stop. Thanks for the offer of help and loan of the track pump to fix a puncture. Great place to stop if you’re out and about in the area.

After recently arriving from Australia, my friend who lives nearby took me out for a delicious scone and a cup of tea. The restaurant was surrounded by horses and stables, making it a great spot to catch up and chat about the Richmond football club.

Disappointed to arrive at Emily's only to be told that because the server was on her own and had already taken a few hot food orders she wasn't going to take any more. I know it's not necessarily her fault but when you've cycled quite a distance to get there and are expecting hot food to sustain you it's not great is it! View menu

Peter warmly welcomed our large group of walkers for coffee, cake, and scones after our walk in Whitwell. There were 28 of us and despite the size of our group, Peter provided excellent service. The cafe was small but cozy, and Peter efficiently served us all. The cakes and scones were delicious, and we will definitely return and recommend this cafe to others.

Two friends and I visited Whitwell, but had trouble finding the restaurant as there were no clear signs for drivers. When we finally arrived (using GPS), there was no parking available and it appeared that the restaurant was mainly catered towards walkers and cyclists. Despite enjoying the food, we were put off by the unfriendly and abrupt staff, so we won't be returning in the future.
