"because we live, we rarely go by before that is much too late to breakfast, so this is a reviesw of the load, and our experience is something mixed. cheeses in the main are excellent although the stylton needs to eat as...soon as it is open as I have found that if kept open for too long, it develops a rather sharp taste. the olives are standard olives and not better than rolfes by walsham, which are half price. wrists of gammon are good throughout as the cut ham, although we have recently been amused to see that our package of seasoned Christmas had a best before november. in the danger of the ceremonies I add only one hauch of oil for the black smoked speck, as I otherwise find it too dry. So, good quality for which they pay a premium, and with one or two personal glitches. but we still call when we always come by to see what new things are. P.S the rioja is excellent!"

Very good quality produce from a small company who have been successful since 1820. Not cheap but worth the extra money.

This shop in Suffolk has the absolute best cold meats I've ever tasted. It is simply the top choice for anyone looking for deliciously flavorful meats.

I purchased my Christmas ham and other items from this restaurant. The ham was delicious and the customer service was great. I would recommend this place and will definitely be purchasing from them again. - Albert Smith

It can be very challenging to find a wide variety of crystallized fruits in stores and online, but luckily I discovered that Emmetts offers a 400gm box that can be shipped quickly, just in time for Christmas! After browsing their website, I found that they also offer many other delicious and intriguing items that can be shipped, making it very tempting to try them all. If only Emmetts were located closer to me! View menu

the caffe is closed (I last visited only before Christmas the products are excellent. some unusual products, including the black ham, which has a distinctly sharp taste (possibly from long smoking). earl grey ham had no recognizable teenoten, but was very tasty ham. excellent cornichone. good salami/health. looks to store the world's largest collection of pelletscherobst. the prices are very high. I like to charge this as a local and independent application. but also continued masons. prices are comparable.

Met the owner at a Spanish food event about 20 years ago and bought oil and vinegars. Tootling away in the van one day we both wondered where we knew Peasenhall from. We then both yelled EMMETTS and stopped for supplies. The strawberry tree honey is still talked about. Now we stop whenever in the area. The date and lime chutney is wildly addictive and pairs with cheese and of course the wonderful beech smoked ham. The black bacon and ham is unique and had a taste of its own. Try getting the black streaky and wrapping around dried apricots or prunes (soak in brandy with star anise and chilli) for a winter treat. The oak honey is rich and a small amount added to yoghurt and granola adds a subt...

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
