"We found Esprit Vin whilst walking around Montpellier (quite near the medical school/large church). Initially we chose a table in the covered terrace area outside, but when we found ourselves surrounded by smokers we decided to move indoors. We were glad we moved: the restaurant interior is modern and more atmospheric. It’s clearly popular with locals and every table was occupied throughout the lunch period. They offer a plat du jour at lunch for 10.90 euros. On the day we visited the choice was grilled fish with potatoes & veg or a large salad of ham & goat’s cheese, both of which were very good (and portions were large). The house white was excellent. Our bill for 4 was 66 euros."

right in the middle of the historical center. They have great tapas and of course an awesome wine selection!

Plat du jour - Nicoise salad - was the best I've ever eaten and exceptional value at Euro 10.95. Nice glass of local white to wash it down. Very bustly and popular with locals.

Large wine selection. Good price (16-24€/bottle). Most wines on the menu can be ordered per glass. By day it was pretty crowded (Now you know why!). We went around 23.00, after dinner. Cosy atmosphere on a small city square.

I had just arrived in Montpellier and needed a very late lunch. I came across Esprit Vin and took a table outside on the small square. The tapas were delicious and the servings generous. All in all, it was a very relaxing place to enjoy the food and wine on offer.

Stumbled across this restaurant on the square just before Christmas 2016. The tapas menu provides excellent choice at a fair price. They are always busy which is a good sign but this can make service a little patchy. Nevertheless good. We would recommend this restaurant.

Not a bad little spot. Extensive wine list and large salads, if a bit steep at €12 a pop. The Mas de l'Erme wine (€2.80 a glass) are good - mine got fuller as I had more glasses. And rare to find wifi accessible for foreigners - usually you have to have a French connection to get on. None of that here.

Just a few steps away from the crowded Place Jean Jaurès you'll find this nice winebar. Their winemenu has most of the wines by the glass. This is not a posh place, but just a good terrace to enjoy wine and some food without the snobby wine-culture. A good place to just sit down, relax and enjoy the fact that you've escaped from the obvious touristtraps around the corner.

We were walking around Montpellier and discovered this little place. Great service, well priced and as we just wanted something light, tapas was ideal. Four tasty dishes were spot on. Excellent house wine as well.No doubt if you stumble upon it, then you'll be satisfied as well. I walked inside to use the toilet and the place looked really cool and what I saw of other diners meals looked inviting enough.

We dined here for lunch on a warm August day and would not bother returning. The burgers and salads were below standard, both could not be finished because they were so terrible. Service was slow and not overly friendly. The location in a lovely square was the most pleasant part of the experience. Maybe it was a bad day for the chef, we ordered incorrectly or just didn't like their style of food, but we would definitely not dine here again! A burger, a salad and drinks came to EUR35.30.
