"It was cold and rainy. The Fischerklause looked inviting and offers free parking, so we decided to try it. The restaurant was lit by candles, panelled with wood, and displayed antiques with a maritime feeling. The menu was not too large, but catered to fish and meat lovers as well as vegetarians. We were a bit puzzled by the schnitzel stuffed with cheese and pineapple, but apparently this is a regional speciality, and the waiter was happy to offer a plain schnitzel, or one stuffed only with cheese. The service was attentive, and there were good beers and wines. On our first visit, one of us had an unstuffed schnitzel, and the others had mixed fish platters. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we returned every evening of our three day stay in Zingst. We were particular impressed with the fish soup, Saute potatoes (bratkartoffel), Chanterelle (Pfefferlinge) mushrooms in a cream sauce, schnitzel, cod (Dorsch) and fresh fried herrings."
