Had a wonderful forell with horseradish creme and mash. And beer of course. Very nice place with good athmosphere.

The Restaurant is specialized in fresh regional fishes. I was there several times and was always good. When the place is full, it takes some waiting time

As per my opinion Nützel is the best franconian fish restaurant in Erlangen. Definitely I recomend to taste pepper carp. The price is ok, so you need 40 € for 2 persons for dinner consisting of carp and local beer (Steinbachbräu). Must visit place!

First visit even though I've lived in this area for 18 years, my group all had carp which was delicious something different to experience. Service was friendly. Don't expect super fast service as they are BUSY, but its a lovely relaxed atmosphere inside, and something to be enjoyed.

If you have the time and patience it is worth the wait. We were sat for over an hour before our fish came, however, the place was packed and they seemed to be understaffed, so we just took it easy and enjoyed our drinks. The wait was worth it. The fish was great (I recommend the forelle over the carp) and we had a great meal. The staff was also super smiley and friendly. A very good experience! View menu

Not only for Fish-lovers a great experience as the live fish are only taken out of the basin after you order them! But also for everyone else who loves meat in all forms of Franconian varieties. Very friendly service, the Zander-filet (don't know its name in English) was the right choice as all 4 others at out table agreed after tasting it that they would have this next time. Then the head chef Martin agreed to make fresh Kaiserschmarr'n for Desert if i was prepared to wait as the Restaurant was packed: one hour later it was outstanding to the degree that i would wait as long as it takes next time too!Would i return?Every time i am back in Erlangen!

We had the deepfried Karpe and it was delicious! The side orders we had were potato salad and a small side salad in vinegar. To drink we had the Erlangen beer, Stork. Very good beer! The service was quick and friendly. We arrived at 19:00 and had booked in advance and when we arrived, the place was packed! Almost overcrowded and several guests were waiting. Many were upset as they had reserved and had to leave as the restaurant seemed to have overbooked. At our reserved table, the people prior to us were still sitting there and had to be kicked out. I´ve known the place since the eighties.If you want to have carp in Erlangen, this is where you go.Carp is regarded a minor fish in many places, but here you may discovere this is not justified.Carp have been bred in the area since the Middle Ages and Franconians do know a trick or two to make that musty taste disappear.After the harvesting the carp are kept in fresh water.The Season goes roughtly from September to April and the restaurant is open only during the Carp season.The restaurant itself is charming.
