"We went for dinner - last Tuesday (1 August) - on our first evening in Paris and felt we had arrived. This restaurant was the essence of Parisian bistro dining down to the red gingham table cloths. Cliche I hear you say but there was no cliche here. Things become cliched because they were once good and therefore become imitated - to too great a degree. Black Forest gateau was amazing originally (though Blue Nun never was).So to La Fontaine de Mars. Lovey food beautifully presented. My miles feuilles de chèvre and artichauts was divine as was my duck main course. The prunes in armagnac dessert was almost too good to cope with. The service was attentive and friendly (ok you got me; this wasn't typically Parisian!) without being obtrusive. The only negative? The exchange rate which caused it to be a bit pricey.Worth a detour, as the say in the best guides."

Great locale, particularly if you are headed to the Eiffel tower.

Service started off slow but eventually got better after we complainedI had the Sunday special which was organic chicken breast with mash potatoes.

I should not review this restaurant--because my review will be glowing and more people will discover F de M and thus crowd the likes of me out!--though, as

I loved this traditional Parisian style bistro. Noisy, crowded, beautiful... Very nice staff, good service, delicious food. Fresh tomato salad with burrata was good. Beef tartare was excellent.

We went to this bistro with high expectations. It's one of those traditional French bistros...crowded, vibrant and quite near the Eiffel Tower. The actual street and location is nothing special. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The food was good but not great. Overall it was a positive experience without hitting the heights.

We're favorite in this 7th corner. Address that we often frequent as many regular faithful, both the atmosphere and the kitchen are comforting. Never disappointed and always sure it will be perfect! The team, too faithful, is there for many: its sympathy and dynamism are always on the rdv! Long live our next fountain in March (and its famous floating island in dessert)!

The oysters are falling on the ground, we discussed with the scaffold that was very friendly and very professional. We feel that he has years of experience. Very good advice, I recommend the oysters 100%, it really welcomed us. We didn’t expect to eat here but he managed to get us to change his bravo’s opinion and bravo for the service of the entire restaurant, everything was perfect

Went to that restaurant during lunchtime, me only wanting a coffee and two members of my family wanting food. The waitress brought us menus, then came to collect our order and I asked if there is any menu with coffees, because the one I was given didn't have any and that's all I wanted. The waitress then got rude and said in a nasty tone that we came here to eat, it is not a cafe, but a restaurant and if I wanted a coffee I should have gone to Starbucks. Being heavily pregnant I found that way of speaking to me was unacceptable and I didn't want to be treated like that. We got up and left. Avoid that restaurant, as soon as they find out you're a tourist and not intend to spend hundreds there...
