"We were staying in Rome for an annual conference and, having some free time, decided to find the Fontana di Papa for lunch having chanced on it previously. Our recollections of distance were badly out but, with judicious research on google we were able to find it by Kilometre 12 as we remembered. There is a huge car park which was not all that full as we arrived just before 1pm. What looked like a large family party was gathering outside but, when we went in, only a few tables were occupied. We were shown to a table and water was quickly served. Our waiter then came and, in Italian (and only Italian) explained what there was and asked what we 'd like. We started with some delicious bruschetta pomodoro accompanied by 3 types of grilled vegetables. This we followed with fettuccini with mushrooms and rigatoni with a tomato and chilli sauce. Next we had sausage and skewers of delicious lamb with roast potatoes, and chicory. Next we had home made pannacotta with caramel and chocolate sauces. Everything was beautifully cooked. We had coffee and a couple of litres of sparkling water and a total bill of €58. It was excellent value for money. They take credit cards. The Clientele ranged from elderly couples and singles to young families and from the large family group to groups of workmen having lunch together. They have excellent and inexpensive wine choices and the place is immaculately clean. Large linen napkins and attentive staff also add to the pleasure of eating there. We 'll certainly be back. It 's now programmed into our satnav and mobile phones so we will not be delayed arriving next time. The Restaurant became completely full and understandably so with the quality of food and prices. When you add the fact that it 's family-run and the Hotel gets good reports too it 's not surprising. Thank goodness we found it again! And it 's not only child friendly but dog friendly too."

I have eaten at Fontana di Papa many, many times in the past 3 years on my trips to Italy. The food is ALWAYS fantastic, and the service is to die for. Pesce, scampi, steak,lamb,sausage, ravioli, and other homeade pastas are always available. I bring all my workmates here for both lunch and dinner. NEVER DISAPPOINTED!!!! Massimo is the absolute best host/waiter and greets all Americani with a smile and helps translate the menu with ease. I will return again and again.....Ciao, Grazie

I've been seeing this place for about three years, so I can say I've tasted the whole menu. Restaurant without frills here we rediscover the flavors of the real traditional cuisine, we start from some appetizers for me super : coratella, beans with the butts and tripe are excellent, for the first to my goto are all good but the cannelloni and the lasagna made by hand do not beat. For the second it is all another story, here you eat the real meat in the grill, especially cooked by those of experience really has so much, beef steaks, baked pig and ripassed to the grill, bacon, sausages, galletto, pork stench, in short, there is so much to write! "I had heard and read about the Parlo bistro, located in Genzano di Roma, always in a flattering way and therefore curiosity and expectations were high. The place is very nice and the atmosphere is relaxing with good background music. The tables are large and sufficiently spaced. The menu offers burgers and baos all stuffed with quality raw materials, as can be seen from the menu, with the plus that all the buns and baos are homemade. To start, we tasted the mini bao mix on the menu under the starters heading. The bao is perfect, it just serves to bring the filling into your mouth because it dissolves immediately without needing to be chewed. The fillings of 2 of the 4 baos are characterized by crunchiness, they are the veggie and the fish, they are delicious. All the flavors can be felt distinctly and the homemade mayonnaise is a plus which gives a nice boost. The ginger and lime mayonnaise stands out in the fish. The third of the mini baos is stuffed with a mini Chianina burger which, despite its small size, remains juicy and tasty, the presence of kimchi is interesting. The last of the 4 mini baos, certainly not for goodness, is the one with the dark pork belly. Dark pork belly is one of the traditional Chinese dishes and I must say that after tasting different interpretations, this is one of the ones I liked the most. The pork remains with a very thin crunchy crust, very juicy inside, the typical Chinese sauce that accompanies it, with its sweet and salty taste at the same time, pairs perfectly. After this introduction we tried our hand at a bao and a burger also to try the brioche bun. The PBLT is a squid ink brioche bread with grilled prawns inside, I would add nice prawns, crispy bacon and pink sauce. Curiosity arose from the prawn paired with bacon. After tasting it I have to say that it is a truly excellent combination. The bacon is cooked to perfection, crispy like potato chips. In some places it was a little too tasty, but apart from that, together with the tenderness and right humidity of the prawn it is truly an explosion of taste in the mouth. Also in this case the bun is absolutely meltable and serves to bring its contents to the mouth. The bao on the other hand was the IKA bao. Always with squid ink with inside a cuttlefish croquette fried in panko, accompanied by a sriracha mayonnaise, a typical spicy oriental sauce but at the same time with a sweetish aftertaste. The croquette fried in panko crunched under the teeth which was a pleasure, also because the frying was very dry and well done. A sign that in the kitchen they know what it means to have the frying oil at the right temperature so that the frying is light, crispy and dry All baos and burgers are served with triple-cooked homemade potatoes, accompanied by 3 jars containing 3 mayonnaises in which to dip the potatoes. I personally really enjoyed that lime and ginger. We accompanied everything with 2 small beers and a mineral water for a cost of €48. The price is up to the quality of the proposal. If I had the Parlo bistro under my house they would see me very often, a recommended place."
